Anna, We have about the same number of kids in our branch, but more junior than senior. I was primary president for 2 years and was in the presidency for 2 years before that and I loved it! So much fun. Our primary just about doubled during the time I was there and it is still growing. The kids are so fun!

I did a swatch for DH's hat and am casting on now. I am excited. The swatch seemed to move pretty fast. Let's hope the hat does too!

Speaking of DHs, Beth I forgot to say hooray for yours being home. Hope you are enjoying a nice day together! Did he have any luck hunting?

Hope the lesson went well, Anna!  I'm great w/ lessons & kids, after years of teaching, but adults in the room would intimidate me too.  What type of church is it?  Sounds like you and Carrie have the same structure going.

Carrie, GL w/ the hat!  How's everybody feeling now?  Is Braden sleeping more like his reg. schedule now?

Beth, hope you're having a nice morning w/ the family now that DH is back :)

Nothing crafty yet for today.  After church, I ended up unclogging the drain pipe for the garbage disposal (my fault because I didn't flush the coffee grounds well enough), and replacing the cartridge for the water filter.  Somehow D ended up dumping Comet cleanser on his face while DH & I were right there, but he didn't seem to get any into his mouth, thankfully.  Gave us a scare though.  We did a little in the garage, but it was hard to stay productive w/ the DSs awake.

Maybe I'll get some knitting in now.  It would be nice if I could have the two sleeves done in two weeks or less, and then have only the body of the coat to deal with.  I'm so thankful that I chose a really easy pattern, although it won't be a piece of art like the Classica.

Hi all!

Got the sewing machine out and am making shirts for the girls. I am trying to find a shirt pattern for Gabriel. Does anyone have any ideas for shirt patterns in the 12 month range?

Hi everyone!

I have never made shirts Kim. How fun that you are going to do some sewing!
Christine, sorry about the scare, but glad he is OK. Hope you get a lot done on the coat.

Just taking a quick break from writing my letter to the doctor's office. The comedy of errors by that office is amazing. I am finding more and more as I investigate my account with the insurance companies. Tongue Trying hard to keep it factual, non-judgmental and non-emotional. Just a "these are the facts, these are my concerns, this is what I would like for a resolution" letter. It is hard to be concise when there are so many issues. I tend to be a storyteller too, so I need to curb that and maybe just list the errors for the sake of brevity insetad of getting into all of the play-by-play.

Man, this cable cast-on is a PITB! Christina, what cast-on did you use on your Boyfriend hats?

Are you using knit or woven?  This site has some patterns, although I'm not really sure what I'd do w/ a onesie or tank at this point, so IDK if it would help you.  I found this on HC too-might be more helpful.

Carrie, hope the writing is going well.  Maybe by now you're finished?

Christine - Carrie and I are LDS (latter-day saints) or mormons. Church for us is 3 hours. One hour with the whole congregation together. With various speakers of the congregation speaking and hymns. And the next 2 hours we all have seperate classes. I'm in the Primary which is a few other adults and  teachers. And we take turns teaching them a lesson for 20 minutes and then singing time for another 20 or so minutes. And then they go to their classes.

Hi guys. Just checking in before I go take a nice hot bath to relax. DH has been a major grump all day long, and it's really irritating (even after a 3 hour nap)! I finally sent him to bed in the middle of bowling on the Wii. I'm sure it's something I didn't do while he was gone. Either that or he's grumpy from not...uh...you know....DTD for almost two weeks. But the attitude doesn't make me want to be anywhere near him, so he's kind of making the situation worse for himself. Men....(where's my eye-rolling smiley?)

Okay, all the kids are in bed and quiet, so I'm going to go take a bath. See you all tomorrow!

Hi Christine! I was just coming back on to say where is everyone? A slow chat night. I am not done with the letter but I think I got the major things I want to say down on paper. Now I need to revise it and clean it up. I want to make sure that it is professional and not a rant. I want them to take me seriously that it is a concern, but do not want to have negative feelings with the doctors. I really love the practice and I recommend it to everyone.
Right now, I am working on the hat. The cable cast-on was not so bad once I got into the rhythm. In fact, I got so over-zealous that I actually had to rip back a bit as I cast on extra stitches. LOL A crochet hook in the right hand made it easier. Right now, I am working on knitting in the ends and trying to figure out how to do that within the ribbing pattern. I think I got it. After this row, I should be able to just go mindlessly until I get to the decreases which will be nice. DH wanted a thin trim of gray and the rest of the hat green. I think it will look nice.

Enjoy your bath Beth! Sorry about the grumpy DH. They do shoot themselves in the foot sometimes don't they. You catch more flies with honey, don't they know that?

Tomorrow is going to be a long day. All the kids are coughing, Tregg has a fever and Ashton is borderline. We all have terrible sinus headaches and you can imagine what my house looks like with me being sick and out for the count for a few days. It seems like it is just dishes and laundry to be folded and hopefully I can chip away at it tomorrow. I am hoping to feel better then because I am going to be home with 3 sick kids. I won't be able to feel crappy. Tongue

Thanks for filling me in, Anna.  Sounds like the service really lends itself well to having a close-knit community.  I'm not familiar w/ LDS too much.  I met some very nice LDS people in Mexico of all places though.  They were at Spanish language school w/ me, and preparing to do some missionary work.  Glad your lesson went well.

Beth, sorry about DH.  That re-entry can be tough on everyone, and IKWYM about a "deprived" man.  As though pouting and fuming would help?

Carrie, sounds like you are getting a hang of the cable thing.  Good for you!

I think I better see if there's something entertaining to watch while I get some work done on my sleeve.  If I don't make it back, have a great night, mamas!

Maybe I should check Tregg's temp again. He just fell out of bed and then stumbled out into the L.R. kinda dazed and babbling something about Optimus Prime. (They watched Transformers with DH this morning.) Poor kid. The fall probably jolted him out of a sound sleep.

Thanks Anna.

Well, he seems OK. I just get nervous with fevers sometimes. I am sure that fever plus acting delirious is bad. I think he was just half- awake though b/c his fever was only about 100.

OK, I need some smaller cables. I thought that using a circular needles would be easier than DPNs due to the large number of stitches, but this is not easier with a 40 inch cable. It is doable, but awkward. I am going to see if I get into a flow in a few rows and if not, I will switch to my DPNs. At first I was so scared of DPNs. Who knew I would actually prefer them? LOL
