I use mostly one-size diapers and these are the only ones where the velcro actually stays on the laundry tab in the washer (the others all come apart meanign they're all stuck to each other when they come out of the washer). I hang the shells to dry and tumble-dry the inserts and both dry rather quickly and look to be in good shape 2 months into use. The suedecloth keeps baby's bum nice and dry, although we have had a bit of staining on one diaper, but that could be because I didn't wash it for 3 days instead of the normal 2.

Stuffing pocket diapers is kind of a PITA, but I have no problem getting the stuffing out of a soiled diaper. I just hold the insert at the top and shake the cover into the laundry and then drop the insert in afterwards. No biggie. When my son goes onto solid foods, we'll start using the flushable liners so less mess going into the washer.

So far, these are my favourite one-size diaper.

I couldn't use them out of the gate because my son was only 6.5 pounds at birth with skinny legs. He was 10 pounds before any OS cloth diaper fit him well enough.

In a word, meh.
These are stock diapers available almost everywhere and do the job okay. The velcro doesn't age well and the microsuede sometimes stains, but in general these hold in the pee and most of the poops and are fine for around the house during the day where diaper changes can happen every two to three hours. The colours are soft and sweet and they wash and dry quickly and easily. Stuffing is a bit of a hassle, but unstuffing after a poop is a huge pain.
We haven't banished them from the stash but they're the last ones we reach for.

I purchased these diapers used from a friend. She had used them for almost 2 years, but they were still usable, so I thought I would give them a try.

I'm fairly new to cloth diapering, so I had been using prefolds and covers, and with my 25 lb. 8 month old that was too much bulk. I hated it.These are super. They fit her very nicely, they are not bulky and she can wear regular clothing over them (she could not with prefolds).

They are easy to use and care for. I wash every other day with Arm and Hammer Essentials Detergent. Cold wash, hot wash, extra rinse. I dry them in the dryer.

Once in a while we have leaks but usually it's because she drank a lot of formula in the middle of the night and she fell back asleep before I could change her.During the day we have never had a leak.

I highly recommend them.

So far this diaper does what it claims to do but I'm just not a fan. I'm new to CD and was trying different types of diapers. This one doesn't get a lot of use from us. I don't like the pocket diapers, too muck of a pain getting everything in there. I prefer prefolds or AIO. I also don't care for the synthetic fibers. They just creep me out to touch them. My baby doesn't seem to care either way although I know some will say babies don't like to feel wet. Maybe the organic would suite me better but the price is just too high and that is a huge factor for us. I've found cheaper options that seem to work great. I will say that it does seem to absorb a great deal and the one thing I do like it for is nighttime diapering. My LO was in it for 8 hours last night and still dry. Haven't had washing, leak, or stink issues but we don't use it that often.

I did not buy any of these on my own because there are soooo many better options plus I started making a few of my own diapers. Even though I can't really sew, I like my diapers WAY better than BG's. I have a couple other typs of diaper and this is the only one that has stained and will not come out. There is nothing especially great about this product in my opinion. The first time I used them baby peed all over himself. The only thing that I like is that there is a snap on the insert to adjust. Otherwise there are similar products on Etsy for much cheaper. Not impressed!

I'm posting this review to give folks a heads-up. I've been dealing directly with customer service for over a month now (I returned my defective diapers and they have made errors in returning them to me three times now--it's been five weeks!). Although they are very nice in customer service, they seem to be having some issues over there, just be warned.

We purchased a whole set of diapers over a year ago and used them religiously. We found them to be wonderful and swore by them. But we had an accident and ruined the whole batch (our fault), so we replaced them. Every single replacement was unusable within three months of purchase. The soft part of the velcro was completely destroyed and we have no idea why. We never put them in the dryer and we checked our water temperature to make sure it wasn't too hot. They were just a mess.

Cotton Babies accepted the return immediately and said that replacements were sent, but this was five weeks ago. Our latest dealing with them tells us the diapers are set to arrive next Wednesday (almost a week from now). It's been an infuriating process. This could be an isolated incident--it's entirely possible that we just got a bad batch (even though they were purchased at separate times, so I'd be surprised) and that this was just a strange occurance with shipping/customer service that caused them to mess up our address TWICE, but I'm just saying that I'd think twice about going with them again. We've spent over $150 on disposables waiting for these ####ers to come back to us! I think we'll try another diaper with kid number 2.

I am glad I waited seven months to post a review. At first, I LOVED this diapers. After 3 or 4 months however, I started having serious odor issues. I tried stripping, sunning, more detergent, less detergent, changed detergent, more rinses... you name it. And the smell after my son peed on the diapers was nauseating.

Then the velcro started to fail. The laundry tabs somehow got ruined. And I line dry most of the time! I have lost count of how many times I've had a diaper chain after doing laundry. The velcro has also ruined several of my bamboo wipes and now they are starting to fray. Now I have either to wash my wipes separately or put them in a lingerie bag.

I e-mailed customer service to request a set of replacement laundry tabs (as suggested by other customers from diaperswappers.com) but I got a reply saying that if unhappy, I could send my diapers for an exchange. I appreciate the gesture but I don't want to use disposables or have to buy more cloth diapers while my exchange is processed. I know diapers are not made from steel, but there is NO WAY these diapers will last me until potty training, let alone another child!

I have purchased from other brands since and I am much happier with snaps and natural inserts. If Cotton babies offers Bumgenius in snaps and with natural inserts in the future, then I'll become a convert.

I decided to CD my third child-a 35 lb. toddler boy-because I was expecting baby #4 who would be CD'd from birth. I loved the idea of a OS dipe so both kids could share, and these were rated so highly (and cute!) I bought a 6 (& got 7th free promo). I prepped all of them and jumped into CD'ing my toddler. To my shock, it didn't work out. They were just too tight on him to wear all day. I also found I hated washing/stuffing pocket dipes. I've tried a lot of different CD brands now and I just don't understand the hype behind BG/pockets.

These are good diapers in general, but not the perfect system. I think it'll be easier if I just separate it into pros and cons.

Pros:
-Very easy to use.
-Fit our son from birth (but he was born nearly 10 pounds. Had he been any smaller, they would not have fit him right away.)
-They look so good.
-They're nice and trim.
-You can stuff them as much as you need, like for night.
-Best nighttime diaper as far as we're concerned.

Cons:
-Price. We bought two dozen of them because we were new to cloth and scared of using prefolds, but in retrospect, we wasted a lot of money since we ended up using prefolds during the day and BG's only for night. Price-wise, this is definitely a PART of a diapering system, not the sum of it for us.
-The velcro, while still functional (minimally), is falling apart after 10 months.
-Would be better with snaps. Our son can get his BG's off with the greatest of ease.
-They will not fit him all the way through potty training. Our son is almost off the charts for height, and is nearly outgrowing his BG's in rise length. He is 10 months old. Luckily he is not our last baby, so we'll use them for the next and get our money's worth, but they don't go tall enough for some babies, so if your baby is really tall, you'll want to consider that.

Over all, we like these diapers, and recommend them for nighttime use, or to augment a system of mostly prefolds. They're just too expensive to use as a whole system, and if your baby grows really fast, they will outgrow these quicker than expected, and you'll have to spend even more money. Great PART of a diverse cloth diapering system, though.

i waited for several months to post a review. initially, i used prefolds until the baby was about 15 lbs. i loved this diaper when we first got them. they look so slick, and i like the materials. however with extended use, the velcro and washtabs have pretty much fallen apart. i was sent new laundry tabs to sew on, but i am not much of a seamstress and this doesn't stop the velcro across the top from freying. i also had one diaper where the PUL layer had separated.now that my child is on the largest setting and 11 months old, i can say that i wouldn't buy these again. i am looking out for something that will be a long term solution, and possibly for future children. i think that an investment in cloth diapers should last longer than 4-5 months of consistent use, then having to deal with imperfect diapers until i throw them away or try and find an alternative. a few wash tabs and no solution to the problem is not my idea of an investment (especially if they likely aren't going to last for the year for which they are warranted)

LOVE our bumgenius one size diapers!! They fit my daughter (3) for overnights--she is daytime potty trained, and my son (1) all the time. We were given these as a gift, and have not had any problems! Well made, fit well--my slender 3 year old and chunky 1 year old wear the same size! Even though aplix can be annoying at times, there is nothing better for getting the perfect fit. These were a lifesaver when my son went through a very squirmy diaper change stage. They are also the only diapers my husband will put on our children. Very happy with the quality, durability, and absorbancy. I also love that you can stuff them with whatever your favorite inserts are--especially if microfiber isn't your favorite :) We had a slight issue with leaking early on, but the customer service was awesome and helped me trouble shoot and now we are always leak free!! Great product!!

These are fairly bulky as they are a pocket diaper, so we use them for night time diapers. They are awesome, as we can go all night without a diaper change & there is no leaking at all.

They clean up easily (we have yet to have a stain) and I love the velcro as it's easy to get her changed.

This diaper is always on the bottom of my stack b/c I just don't like to use it. I definately prefer my BG Organic OS dipes over their pocket dipe. I have twins, both have chunky thighs, one is small waisted and the other has a thick midsection. I just don't ever feel like this diaper is ever snug on my LOs thighs and waist at the same time. The top edge of the diaper seems to roll over and I'm not a fan of the microfiber insert or the hook and loop closure. When snapped down 1/2 of the insert is really bulky. I started using the diaper when my LOs were 8 weeks old and we had leaks(I preped all my diapers according to directions before first use). By the time they were 14 weeks old it fit well enough that it didn't leak anymore, but I've used it off and on through them being 6.5 months old and just never liked it much.

The bumgenius seem to made with high quality materials. I am satisfied with the absorbency of the BG OS insert that came with it. I haven't had problems with leaking. These diapers run a little small. I have to use it on the largest setting for my 22 pound 15 month old. But it fits nice and trim under clothing and all that. I think this diaper could last a long time. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the microfleece liner does not wick moisture as well as I want it to. My daughter's bottom is a little red after wearing this diaper as opposed to other pockets. Also, the opening to stuff the insert is awkward. The flap doesn't lay down nicely. And it would have been nice if these came with snap closure instead of velcro. And one more thing: I like one-size diapers with the adjustable elastic as opposed to the snaps down the front. Overall, these diapers are good but not the best for my family.

I use these as my nighttime diaper only. I found that when they are stuffed enough to prevent leaks that my LO has a HUGE diaper butt- and it hinders her ability to roll, crawl, etc.

However, I love them as my nighttime dipe. They work great. I use the newborn insert and a Little Weed Hemp doubler and have never had a leak- even after 12 hours.

Their quality is ok. I have found that they do not handle well when washed with other aplix dipes. I have already had to re-stitch the velcro- which I was not thrilled with.

LOVE these diapers! They are the best out of all the ones I have purchased!
I wash them on Cold rinse, sometimes a hot rinse (I find that it gets out all the stains this way) and finally a hot wash with half the recommended Nature Clean detergent. I tumble dry on medium heat. I only do the hot rinse if I've had lots of dirty diapers that wash cycle...

We have been using the BG 3.0 for almost a year now. They have held up very

well. I am very impressed with how vibrant the colors are, even after

countless washes and even bleachings. The inside has few if any stains,

and no odors. The hook and loop closures show more wear than the rest of

the diapers, but still stick well most of the time. When I notice them not

sticking well, I just make sure to dry them in the dryer (not on the line

or rack) and the heat helps reset the fibers that make up the hooks and

loops, and they are usually almost as good as new. Also using the laundry

tabs is very important.

I bought 24 diapers (12 white and 12 yellow), so we can use one set while

washing the other. THis has worked out really well and made keeping track

of the diapers quite easy.

We use Charlie Soap to wash and it works well. Also,we used to use a

diaper sprayer to clean of poo, but have switched to flushable liners and

couldn't be happier!

My husband and church nursery workers find this diaper easy to use. Even

for people totally new to cloth diapering, these are almost as simple to

use as disposables. We will continue to use these for as long as they last

us, and will probably but more for subsequent children if needed. Very

worth the value and convenience.

My only ""complaint"" is the fold down tab at the back comes up sometimes. I also love how cottonbabies will send you replacement aplix tabs even if you bought them secondhand! I am using mine for both my 2 year old and my 8 month old. Fits them both nicely, although I find it fits my 2 year old a bit better.
Great absorbency. Haven't had any leaks. Wash up nicely (even my mother commented!).

These are great, ""trim"" one-sized diapers. I hesitate a bit at the use of the word ""trim"" because I'm not sure if that's the best word to describe the fit. My 2 month-old is 11lb9oz heavy and 23.5in long, and he's on the medium snap setting with a snug fit around his thighs... but the diaper is very bulky on him when he wears them (compared to his nubunz, which are still on the small setting, fit nicely around his thighs, but don't carry as much bulk with the same amount of inserts stuffed inside).

Because they're the most snugly-fit diaper out of his one-size-fits-most diaper stash, they contain even the biggest and wettest messes well... We weren't able to appreciate this fully until we tried using disposable diapers while vacationing (and finally realized what the term ""blow-outs"" meant). The only time we had messes were when the diaper wasn't placed securely on him, and now that they fit snugly, that's not even a problem.

We have a love and hate relationship with the aplix... While they make diaper changes easy for grandpa, grandma, and other people, especially when our baby chooses to be squirmy... they can also make skin-on-skin time (when baby is fussy) somewhat painful when they catch on your skin. Also, you either have to take care to remind people to fold over the aplix onto the laundry tabs when placing them in the laundry, or you have to sort through your diapers before laundering to make sure the aplix are on laundry tabs before washing them.

Overall, though, they're a great economical diaper to invest in, when you consider the following: price, long-term use, user-friendliness, and ""obtain-ability"" (I heard some Target stores carry them).

When I was first introduced to Cloth Diapering, these were all I was going to buy. They seemed to be the least scary option. I really wanted these to work because I didn't want an eclectic stash of diapers, so I tried to ignore the negative reviews these got and focused on the positive ones. However, now I regret getting any. I followed all of the washing instructions perfectly and yet they leak just about every time I use them. I don't have this problem with my other diapers. Also, I found out quickly that I hate stuffing the diapers. I think its easier to just use fitted diapers with covers than it is to bother stuffing these all the time. And, I really hate having to reach into the diaper to pull out the soaked insert to wash them. And lastly, they were too big for my 10 pound newborn, and now that he is 3 months, they are unsnapped to their biggest size already! I can tell they will not fit for too much longer especially since they are so tight around the legs as is. So much for one size fits all.

These diapers don't fit either of my chubby-thighed baby boys! My toddler is 36"" tall and 33 lb, and we can barely get them around his belly. My three-month-old is 25"" and 20 lb, and we can't hardly squeeze him in anymore, either! They leave red elastic marks around their legs! I suppose they'd be a better fit with slimmer babies. I've had better luck with sized (large, of course) diapers and with the Happy Heinys one-size.

I have a love hate relationship with these diapers.
LOVE:
-fit, function, and ease of use.
These are the only diapers I send to the dayhome or Grandma's and I get no complaints. They are ease to use and the fit is great - you can't beat those stretchy tabs!
HATE:
-they stink no matter how you wash them or how often you strip them.
-the velcro wears out so quickly, even when you hang dry the shells
-do not fit up to 35lbs (for my girl anyway - she is 30lbs now and these diapers barely fit)

These make up a large part of our stash, and we are on our second child and our second set of these diapers (doesn't save all that much money if you have to buy a new set for every child). The first set stunk so bad and the velcro was tearing and barely sticky. And they were part of a large stash of one-size and sized diapers, so it's not like we used the same 12 diapers every day for 2 years.

BUT despite all my gripes, these are still the first dipes I reach for because they fit well, they are easy to use, and I rarely if ever get a leak.

Pros:
These diapers really hold the poop in. We had three minor leg leaks while my baby was exclusively bf. Nothing compared to what I remember going through with my older boys who wore disposables.

Adorable. The colors stay bright wash after wash. The insides of my diapers are completely white, all stains having come out of the cover with sunshine.

One size fits (almost) all. You don't have to buy different sizes of diapers, so these will save a ton of cash over sized diapers.

Poop falls off of the suede lining easily. Once my baby started solids, I used the diaper sprayer over the toilet and they clean without me having to touch the yuck.

They're less expensive than disposables. According to my calculations, I made up the cost of these diapers after about 8 months. (Compared to Huggies bought at Sam's Club).

Customer Service is top notch. As you'll read below, Cotton Babies has agreed to replace my whole stash after 11 months because the velcro and elastic are wearing out.

Cons:
The microfiber inserts STINK after several months. Bleaching the inserts separate from the covers every other wash and that seems to keep the stink under control.

You can't use diaper cream with them. If you do get a wee bit of cream on them, it takes a LOT of scrubbing to get those scuff marks off.

When my baby was little, his diapers would leak from the stretchy tabs when he laid on his side I found that NOT changing him before nursing laying down solved that problem. I think when the diapers are dry, the pee doesn't absorb without some pressure, so it kind of rolls out when the baby lies on his side.

After 11 months, the velcro won't stay put and the elastic is weak (resulting some major messes). BUT Cotton Babies has a wonderful warranty. I just called in and they are going to replace my entire stash. Yes, new diapers! (Except for the stinky inserts--I get to keep

I really like the diaper but I hate the velcro tabs. I have not even had a month and the velcro is falling apart. The diaper for everything else is my favorite. I wish this diaper came with snaps or better tabs. The velcro come off the the laundry tabs while in the wash and then get stuff all in the velcro. i pull it all out but they are not sticking and roll up at the ends. I wish i new someone or how to put on my own snaps then they would be wonderful. I rarely have leaks and they fit great so far but Liam my son is one moth old today so I'm not sure they will fit great later. But this is my favorite diaper for the night it keeps everything in. I know everyone thinks this diaper is great and it is except for one problem, the aplix. After a few washings it starts to pill, fray and it doesnt hold as well. There has been many occasions where one or even both sides of the diaper has come undone UNDER my sons clothing because the aplix doesnt hold strong enough and it's not like my diapers are old. The ones I currently use are less than 2 months old. I just dont feel the quality of this diaper is where it should. I have other pocket diapers purchased at the same time that still look new.
Now for the good stuff. I will say that we have never had a leak with these, even for overnight and they are far superior in that regard. I can always count on this diaper when traveling or naps or whenever changing my son might be prolonged. Since I prefer aplix over snaps I wish the company would remedy this problem then is would easily be a 5+ star diaper.

I really do like my BG 3.0. I have a huge stash of them as they are very easy to use (Daddy friendly!) and I like the pocket type diaper as I think it gets very clean with each washing. I've had no problems with this diaper leaking or pinching my son. The ONLY caveat is that the aplix is pretty much useless after many washings. Thankfully, I found someone to convert all of my BG to snaps so once those come back to me, I'll be back in love with this diaper! It's definately the one I reach for the most!

love this diaper. i have many cloth diapers and this is one of my favorites. i love it b/c 1. it's easy to put on a moving baby. 2. it's super soft 3. it keeps the bottom dry (b/c of the pocket feature)! so, i keep this diaper on my baby longer than other dispers. i think the best feature is the pocket b/c it stays dry longer and the poop rolls off the diaper so i don't need to spray it w/ a hose to take the poop off. easy.

I liked the BG 3.0 pockets a lot for the first handful of months that I used them. I bought them after my baby outgrew the infant prefolds. They were easy to use in the rolling-over-and-trying-to-crawl-away-during-changes phase because of the aplix closure and stretch tabs, and easy for taking along on the go. After a few months I felt like it took to much washing to get the inserts smelling good, so I switched to stuffing with prefolds and that did the trick for a few months. Then I just started having wash many times to get the pockets themselves smelling good. I was using Charlie's and tried switching to Tide Free; that helped a bit but still felt like too much effort to me so I have gone back to all cotton diapers that wash up easier. I think the synthetic fabrics just hang on to odors more. In retrospect, I sort of wish I'd opted for some cotton fitteds with aplix closure (since I liked that aspect of the bumGenius dipes) and covers OR maybe the BG AIO with cotton interiors (which I haven't tried).

If my child were slim I think that I would have liked the Bum Genius 3.0's better; however my child is very chunky and these diapers would not fit him by the age of 14 months. They were too snug and the velcro would cut into his tummy folds when he sat or bent. I do not like the velcro all that much and wish that they had the option for snaps.

If these came with snaps and a more generous sizing then I would totally love them! Sadly, I just cannot recommend them to anyone who may have a chunky baby. If your child is slender then these are definitely a great diaper!

I am new to cloth diapering so I started with the pocket systems and the AI2 systems. I have been using it on my petite 2 1/2 yo and find it to be a good diaper. It's easy to clean/spray off which is a big plus for me due to the messy downside of cloth diapering. The microfiber inserts seem to be very absorbent. The overall fit is good and they are super easy to use. I can tell that the aplix will give out before the rest of the diaper though so I am a bit wary of how long it will hold up with #2 which is on the way. I find it works well as a night diaper so far. It does seem it will be a bit bulky on a smaller baby but don't know that for sure yet. Overall I would classify this as a good workhorse pocket diaper.

I originally tried a bumGenius 3.0 (suede cloth) in a sampler pack. It wasn't my favorite diaper because of the suede cloth, but shortly after, they introduced the limited edition fleece. I purchased 2. I still have all 3 diapers.

The bG is not my favorite pocket, but I think it is a good diaper. The fit is fairly trim in terms of pockets. I also love the OS insert that comes with it. I also have found that the included newborn insert is great as a doubler on top of hemp inserts. The fleece in the limited edition bGs is very nice. It's thick and stays soft against baby's skin. What I'm not so crazy about...1) there are only 3 rise settings, 2) the aplix tabs aren't as roomy, so there isn't as much crossover/room for growth, and 3) the aplix also tends to get kind of stringy and pilly around the diaper fabric. I haven't had any problems with the tabs coming undone in the laundry though.

At the end of the day, I like the bGs enough to keep them in regular rotation. However, they are not my favorite diaper. I typically save them for going out when I know I will want something trimmer yet still quite absorbent. I wouldn't tell someone not to get them, but I would advise them to try just one first.

We have a real mix of different diapers, and we decided to try a few of the one-sized diapers to throw in the diaper bag, since we have two children of two different ages in diapers. I have to be honest and admit I wasn't keen on the idea of one-sized diapers to begin with, since I felt it was a lot to ask of one diaper.... to function perfectly with so much wear for so long... anyhow, they did provide the flexibility we needed for the diaper bag, not having to pay attention to what sizes we were throwing in there as we rushed out the door. Since we do use them so rarely, we have not had the stink issues that seem to be problematic with every other diaper we own with the microfiber inserts... but these are the only diaper we have had staining issues with. We have managed to fade most stains with plenty of sun-time, however I am curious what sets these apart form the other pocket diapers that never stain for us? I loved how trim they fit, however they did not fit my older child well past 2.5 years, and she is not overly large. I would only reccomend these as an occasional use diaper... but use other diapers such as bummis or other natural fiber diapers to mkae up the bulk of your diaper collection!

This diaper is what got me hooked on cloth diapering full time. I loved them AT FIRST and enjoyed the ease of use.
I don't have much to add because I agree with most of the negative reviews of this product, but I would encourage any mom researching cloth diapers to TRY the diaper for at least a month. Maybe more if you are thinking of plunking down a couple hundred bucks for a full stash. Be patient! What works for another mom might not work for you, your budget, or MOST IMPORTANTLY your baby!!

These were our go to diapers for errands, naps, nights, and family members. They were great for a while, but then we had stink issues with the inserts. No problem, I switched to cotton prefolds. Now my son is starting to get sensitive to the suedecloth when he gets too hot. There goes errands and nap time. Now they just sit in the basket on the changing table. I have some of the organic cotton AIOs and would much rather have a couple more of those. I am in the process of replacing them in our stash.

I have waited a LONG time to post this review. I wanted to test the life of these diapers before saying anything...

I experienced the honeymoon phase with my bunGenius as pretty much everyone does. For the first few months you can't believe a sole on earth would use anything other...

Then a little stink starts. No big deal. I went through numerous detergents and washing routines. I called cottonbabies several times for advise. I finally found something that seemed to work for us and have not had as much difficulty.

Then the tabs start sticking a little less. This is a more annoying problem. My daughter would bend over and *pop* off came a side of her diaper. UGH! We again called cottonbabies and they replaced the defective diapers... sadly the replacement have started having problems.

Lets not forget the elastic giving. Our elastic around the legs started to give somewhere in the 18-24 months range. No longer could I count on leak-free events. I actually quit putting her in a BG to go out in public. I want to promote cloth diapers... nothing like soaked clothes to turn people away.

We were never able to use BG's at night. Our daughter was a heavy wetter at night and we woke up many a night laying in pee. Aristocrat wool covers became our best friend!!!

Sadly, we've not used BG exclusively. I might have been expecting this if we only used BG, but they were just part of the rotation with several different dipes.

Overall??? They're a fabulous diaper to hook people into cloth diapering. They will work like a charm for many months. Long term expectancy has not be what I'd hoped for, but who knows, the next generation of BG's may exceed the older generation!!! (We used 1.0 - 3.0)

I started using BGs on my son when he was 3 mos. old. I really love the ease of use for travel and day care. Had no problems for a while, but after about 12 mos. of use the elastic around the legs wore out completely on many of my BGs. I always was very careful to wash/dry them according to manufacturer's specifications. For the ones with elastic still in tact, after about 15 mos. of use, I began to have serious leak issues. I have tried stripping with little success. Also, I have a large rotation of diapers including prefolds and FB, so BGs are not the only diapers I have been using. I agree with what others have said - a one - size diaper needs to withstand 2-2.5 years of use. I really want to make these work and use them for my next baby, but am getting frustrated with the frequent leaking and clothing changes. I have had no Aplix issues, that has held up fine!

i see some complaints about velcro tabs on the reviews below. yes... it probably won't last as long as metal snaps, but I love velcro tabs, especially for night when i am changing in the middle of the night. it's convenient and fast. great for my wiggly baby. And this is my husband's favorite cloth diaper. So, easy for anyone to use. This diaper keeps the baby dry and doesn't leak. great for night time and traveling when i can't change the diaper often. Also, the velcro tabs last longer and better quality than other cloth diapers that i own.

The fit is really great and the only front-fastened pocket diaper that never wing-drooped on my daughter. Inserts are very absorbent and I like the adjustability of them. Suedecloth stays really soft and looks new for vey long. I also liked how trim they are. All in all, a very reliable diaper.

BUT, the velcro thing is a real pain. It starts looking worn out after only a few washes and soon it curled up at the ends. Also, I was never able to use the medium size setting, the snaps always opened after a couple of minutes. That was not a real problem for us, bc. it also fitted OK in the large setting, but I can see it become a problem for some. It is also somewhat small in my opinion. My daughter is tiny and skinny, so it was great for her, just can't imagine a BIG baby/toddler fitting it.

I bought these diapers for my son, though he could not fit in them immediately ( he was only 5lbs ) I started using them when he reached 7 and found them to work wonderful. We have since changed to only cloth diapers for both my son and daughter. I have 2 children in cloth diapers and think that bum genius is one of the best brands out there. They are easy to have ready to go when someone else is caring for baby, easy to have on the go in a diaper bag, and most importantly easy for me to keep clean. I toss wet ones in the diaper pale, and simply dispose of solids after baby soils it and rinse with a hose in the washtub. My diapers have held up to everythin and have been a godsend for my daughter who suffered constant yeast infections and diaper rashes when is sposies! It is also great that they have fit me infant son all the way through to my 30Lb daughter!

We spent a lot of money on these diapers only to find that they will not last our child much longer. The elastic is fine for us a few months in but the velcro is already looking very worn, not the sign of the quality we expected. They look like a good investment for the fisrt year but not much longer. Needless to say we're disappointed and had hoped for a longer lasting product for the price we paid. We won't be investing more in this brand.

Easy to use, VERY leakproof, and seems to fit a lot of babies well. A great AIO for those that do not want to buy sized diapers--you can use these from birth to potty training, although I found them quite bulky for my 7lb newborn. I waited until about 9lbs to start using them. And I think they outperform a lot of other AIOs out there in the leakproof category. The only reason I give it a 4 is that it is so hard to clean in an HE washer. I have lots of different brands and styles, and for some reason this one seems to be the hardest to rinse and keep clean. Using vinegar in the prewash seems to help a lot. Otherwise, I can't complain. A very convenient diaper!

I really like these diapers but I cannot give them a 5. They are very high maintenance and need a LOT of water to get clean. First, you must spray off sticky poo into the toilet. Since I use a wet pail for the inserts, I do a pre-rinse. The wash instructions call for two full wash cycles and an additional rinse.
The other reason that I say they are high maintenance is because you cannot use any skin-care products on the baby with a BG. Every time I used a BG with a liner and rash cream, my son's rash would get worse. Therefore, I had to stop using these diapers until well after the rash cleared up - over a month!
However, BG's fit well, have no leaks and are easy to get on baby.

I really like these diapers and the lure of one size is very appealing, though tends to be bulky compared to sized aio's & pockets. The liner stays fairly dry and the doubler is great for night. We have had no leaks & no red marks. I find myself grabbing these (now that I have a few) instead of other diapers. Plus, I tend to like velcro instead of snaps as its more adjustable for the fit of my LO.

*Quality-Great!

*Absorbancy-excelent!!!,use as night time diaper double stuff w/two large inserts(one that comes with diaper)I also purchased extra for stuffing! great for everywhere!

*Size....I would like to see the size more like HH's it's more roomy. But fits both my 22lb 9month old and 34lb 3yr old!
Leaks....very few!:-)(mommy error)lol!
One of the reasons we switched to cloth was terrible red marks on baby and toddler...and most importantly disposables were awful at ""NOT"" containing poops!
I was cleaning more ""clothing"" and ""babies""...all the way from neck to ankles...no joke!! (when at a funeral ,no less, our sweet baby pooped right through the disposable and it went all the way down her legs and up to her shoulder blades)I'd had enough! Grrrr....I may as well be cleaning a silly diaper!
So when we started using BG's I was so excited that the poop's and pee's were staying contained were they are supposed to be. I've never had poop blow out of these. Very satisfied.
----I also agree with other mom's about liking to see snaps! and I'd add a couple centimetres to the diaper.
---- I'd prefer a front pocket to a back one...the front is usualy less messy!
---- I also prefer the BG's micro-suede as it does not pill and stays soft!
I've found that fleece once it's lost it's fluffiness leaves the pill imprint on my babes tooshies.
All in all these few minor things don't deter me from giving this product a 5.

Side note....I clean aplix every use...and the diapers are in great shape.

Great design item is the PUL over the top of the diaper to prevent belly leaks (wish I could find that in a dipe with longer rise). Overall, a great diaper for cloth newbies!

The bumGenius one-size was one of the first cloth diapers we purchased and so far it has performed perfectly. The whole cloth diaper world was a little intimidating in the beginning, but the bumGenius is so easy it makes cloth diapering a cinch. Its really great to use when I leave the baby with grandparents or even daddy. I would *highly* recommend the bumGenius to anyone who is going to cloth diaper. Even if you are primarily going to use a different type of diaper, its good to have a few bumGenius dipes on hand for those times you need something fast and simple.

I started cloth diapering when my son was almost 16 months because he started having horrible diaper rash with disposable diapers. I had never even considered cloth because I didn't know anything about the ""modern"" cloth diaper until I felt I had exhausted all other options. He has not had diaper rash since I switched to BG 8 months ago. I use them during the day with the regular insert and at night with the regular insert plus 2 newborn inserts and I have never had a leaking problem. He has always been in the 97-99th percentile in height and the 50-75th in weight and they fit great. He is now almost 2 years old. I highly recommend this product, especially if you are nervous about cloth diapering because they are so easy to use and easy to wash. I'm now considering them for my next baby due in October, although I'll probably start with prefolds and covers for the first few months.

I loved this dipe from the moment we started using it. I had no leak issues, and I didn't mind the bulk. However, when I started to use it more frequently because of daycare, I did begin to have leak and velcro/aplix issues. I admit to making the mistake of using diaper salve (Northern Essence) which probably caused the leak issue, and have since thoroughly stripped the diapers. That said, my boy is a super soaker, and this dipe with both inserts does not make it through the night with him which is disappointing. I did contact the customer service desk at Cotton Babies, and while the leak issues are not covered under warranty, the velcro issues are. I am, therefore, returning all of my BGs to them, and will be going to a fitted/cover solution for my boy. I have sworn off aplix. I wish these diapers came with snaps - only the OC ones do. Cotton Babies customer service was very helpful by providing me detailed instructions on stripping the diapers, and overall, they were extremely professional. I was so looking forward to using BGs as my son's primary daycare and nighttime dipe, and I'm disappointed that I cannot.

Like many others have said, I really wanted these to work becasue they are so adorable. But what a disappointment. The very first time I used these, they wicked out of the leg and in front and in back. I tried them on my 8 lb baby and they did not fit. When he was 12 lbs, they wicked again.
I called Cotton Babies and they said basically I am SOL- their warranty does not cover leaking issues (nevermind I stripped the heck out of these diapers and they had been repelling water since the day I got them- I have never used diaper cream, lotions, etc). A bit odd since these are the only pockets out of all of our FB, HH, and Blueberry's that leak- our others work like a charm adn they are all washed together. What a rip off. I ordered 9 of these and now I am stuck with them and out a lot of money. The ""manager"" said she'd call me back with more stripping ideas and , not to my surprise, I have never heard back from her. Terrible diaper and terrible customer service! I do NOT recommend these diapers!

I initially rated these highly, but now after 18 months of use, they have just fallen apart. The elastic is shot resulting in large gaps and consequently large leaks. The velcro won't stick to the laundry tabs or keep a firm grasp to the diaper itself so all my daughter has to do is give it a gentle tug and the whole diaper falls off. I bought close to 18 diapers of the new and the upgraded version and so far 5 of the diapers are shot and the rest aren't far behind. If you think you are going to use these diapers for more then a year then I would highly recommend fuzzi bunz. They work today just as nicely as the first time I put them on her. Although admittedly, the fuzzi bunz have had half as much wear on them due to the different sizes. The bum genius were wonderful and did the job better then fuzzi bunz but they haven't been able to hold up. If you make a diaper as one-size fits all then they should be able to last 2 to 2 and a half years.

I like these dipes for going out, they keep the wetness away from DD's skin. Overall quality is good, though I agree about the aplix--if I used mine more it would probably be fraying. However, Aplix makes for quick changes on our squirmy DD.

I'm glad we only bought one to try. I don't see it lasting until potty training, and she's in the 5th percentile at one year, and 2 months ago was on the largest rise setting. You might get your money's worth if you buy these when they're younger, but there are other one-size dipes with longer rises.

This didn't work overnight. DD leaked out the top b/c there's no elastic on the front and the pocket flap can open. Pockets that have elastic at the waist work better, they create a seal to avoid leaks.

These aren't as trim as some CDs when used with both inserts, but they're better than PF.

I just love my BG's! I orginally had hh's but I found that they didnt fit my little guy well and they leaked. My friend told me to get BG's but they are really expensive in Canada so I bought some and got them shipped to my sister in law in the states. I couldnt wait to try them. I finally got them and from the first time I put them on my little guy I was hooked! I love the suedecloth as opposed to the fleece as fleece pills and looks horrible. I like the fact that these dipes look just as new as when I bought them. I have never had a leak and my little guy sleeps for over 12 hours at night. I only have to use the larger insert too! I have used only 12 for the last month...so washing has been fun..lol but I have 12 more coming on monday and im super happy about that. I cant say enough great things about BG's! I just wish they were priced similar to what they are in the states...even with the exchange rate I still save about 50-60 dollars on 12 by buying them in the states and having them brought over.

We LOVE our BG pockets. We bought the fleece kind and it's great when they poo because it doesn't stick. Holds in my babies most explosive bf poos. I gave only a 4 because I don't like microfiber inserts, I much prefer a MF & hemp combo like the blueberry insert. I also do not like that they don't come with snaps :( Wake up BG and make all your dipes with snaps for us snap mommas! I think the aplix wears rather fast and causes yucky pilling. These are good diapers. I would give them a 5 if they had snaps! I do not like aplix at all! The fold-over laundry tab do not hold the other tabs anymore...so they are getting ruined in the wash. They are a good dipe, they would be 100% for me if they had snaps!

I use this mainly for overnight cloth diapering because it's superabsorbant and the outside where my baby's bottom touches the cloth feels almost dry even with all the inserts inside the diaper are soaked with urine. I put like 3 or 4 and I don't change my baby's diaper for like 10-12 hrs. When he wakes up, the diaper feels dry, but inside, all the inserts are soaking wet. I NEVER had a leak with this method. If I use this diaper during the day, esp for grocery shopping or when I'm out and about, I use like 2 inserts inside. NEVER leaks... But I don't use it all the time cuz after doing laundry, it's kinda annoying to find the inserts and put it inside a pocket. OK, I'm lazy.

I love to use these for trips out and about because they are quick and easy. They work very well, and I've only had one blowout with these. They are my favorite pocket diaper, but not my number one dipe either. They absorb great and I've had no problems using these for overnight either. My only real dislike is they are a bit bulky, but what can you expect from a onesize diaper, and the suedecloth seems to be a bit irritating to my baby's bum, so we only use them for errands for their ease, and not on a regular basis. I'd say get a few for when you're not at home, but I wouldn't use these as my main diaper system.

I really wanted to love these diapers. They are SO CUTE and fit so trim, but then after using them for a while I started having some problems with them. First the velcro started to fuzz up and the tabs didn't stay closed very well. Then, When my daughter's thighs chubbed up, the velcro tabs started to cut into her skin.

I do not recommend these for chubby babies. But thinner babies should be fine.

I have been using the 2.0 version since my son was about 6 months old (he's now 26 months). These have been really great for that this time period. Just within the last month or two has the Velcro gotten problematic on a few of them and I'm going to go ahead and sew new Velcro on them myself because they're so great. We haven't had any blowouts, but we don't use them at night because they leak with my son's heavy wetting (a doubler might help, but we haven't tried it). I love that I can wash them in hot water and dry them on medium heat with no problems. I also used diaper rash creams every once in a while with them and haven't had any staining that lasted more than two washes. In fact, they haven't stained at all over the 20 months we've used them. I was a little worried about them fitting for long when I had to switch to the largest size fitting at an early time, but they have had no problems fitting him for a long time after that. I had no problems with a variety of detergents, but the 3.0 version might be different since it's different fabric.

Only problems are the following: I need more if I'm going to use them for a newborn because I only got 9 of them to begin with and you need to wash the whole thing every time you change their diaper. My husband's big hands don't fit into the pocket so he never stuffs them (he can't do it). The Velcro wears out after about 18 months of use (not bad really, but snaps might be nicer for long-term or multi-kid use).

I'm currently trying to figure out what to do for the new baby who's coming sometime in July-August since my son is not potty trained yet and I don't have enough of these diapers anyhow to work well for one infant, let alone an infant and toddler. I'm probably going to get fitted diapers in the smaller size for the NB and some Thirsties covers, replace the Velcro on my BumGenius diapers, and maybe get a few of the new BumGenius diapers to supplement as my son is pott

We love bumGenius! diapers! The new colors are so gorgeous. They fit great, don't wick (even after 12 hours overnight - wow!), are easy to use, trim, and don't leave any red marks!

I've heard that they stain for some, but we haven't had any staining. However, we use a Mini-Shower.

A note about wicking - we switched to a front loading washing machine, and switched detergents at the same time. About a week later, we experienced wicking and a lot of leaking for the first time. We finally switched back to regular Tide, and just use less for our HE washer. Since we switched back, the wicking stopped. So, if you're having any leaking, I would highly recommend switching detergents. bumGenius! diapers are the most leak-free diaper we've ever tried, hands down.

They seem to start fitting babies around 12 lbs.

We also experienced wicking when using any Free or Clear detergent (like Tide Free, All Free and Clear, Method). These diapers are the most leak-free diapers we've ever tried. But, use the wrong detergent, and the suedecloth becomes like a rubber sheet! The Free and Clear detergents also seemed to make the velcro less effective.

All in all, a great diaper and they really save a lot of money! I'm not sure if they would fit toddlers with super long rises. My husband loves them! :-)

I cannot say enough about these diapers!! They are absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure if i could handle cloth diapering and they seem to be pretty expensive so I only ordered 3 to start with. I have NEVER had any leaks and they have held up wonderfully. Other people have posted that they've had issues with smells but if you take proper care of the diapers you won't have any problems at all. I also bought the Bum Genius odor spray and that may be what helps. I also have had no issues with staining on the actual diapers. The inserts will slightly stain but when you run them through a wash with a little bleach like the instructions say to do once a month, all of the stains are removed. I am VERY impressed with how well they keep my son dry. I usually have to feel the insert to tell if it's wet because the diaper feels pretty dry. I LOVEEE these diapers and because of them have switched strictly to cloth diapering!!!

We bought these on a recommendation from a friend, who is still using hers on her 2 year old. We love them, and consider them the best baby investment so far. We have around 36, which was rather pricey up front, but is all we've spent on diapers so far. They rotate between my house and my mom, where baby is during the day. I am pretty sure my mom doesn't strictly adhere to the washing instructions, but I haven't seen any negative effects on the diapers. We use Aveno diaper rash cream occasionally, which hasn't effected absorbency. There is really no staining so far, and poops usually peel off into the toilet w/o much effort.

The only couple drawbacks I've noticed is that night time diapers are pretty stinky in the morning, and the aplix looks slightly worn on a few (more on the yellow). This doesn't bother me in the slightest, and they continue to work just fine. I expect we will be able to use them for a good long time still.

I am a little sad that they started making them in brighter colors AFTER I bought our stash, and I really can't justify buying any more.

I wanted these to be my favorite diapers. I will say we never had leaks and they fit my daughter well. These were our overnight and out in town diapers. I take very good care of my diapers and the inners were so stinky and the velcro and laundry tabs do not hold up well at all. I ended up selling all of mine to get some with snaps. If they make a BG with snaps that doesn't get all stinky, I'd probably love it!

These diapers seem great when you first put them on -- they are easy to put on, fit well and don't leak. They come with two inserts, and using both prevents leaks at night, too.

Unfortunately, they don't hold up, and the manufacturer is not up front with care instructions, nor does it stand up for their product.

Note the following IMPORTANT restrictions to follow should you decide to use the diapers:

1) NO diaper creams or they will stop the diaper from absorbing. If you need to use one for a rash, you will need to use the smaller insert outside (between the baby and diaper) and then wash it separately from the diapers. This means having two diaper bins AND running 4 loads of wash each time because you need to wash each item twice, first in cold and then in hot water.

2) Watch the detergent use. No detergents with enzymes, which includes Seventh Gen, etc, or the elastic will break down. I bought Country Safe after finding this out.

3)Must wash at least every other day or the urine will break down the elastic.

I rate these a 5 despite the fact that by 10 months (24 +lbs and 31+ inches)we will be close to grown-out of them. They are supposed to fit up to 35 lbs, but I realize that they are talking about the average baby, not very tall babies. These have been my go-to diaper, they don't leak, unless the babysitter puts the newborn liner in by mistake. They go all night with no leaks, and they are great for going out in, because I trust them not to leak. They, like all cloth diapers can be bulky, but they are much trimmer than some. I am very sad we are outgrown them so soon. They have fitted really well and are easy to clean and easy to stuff.

We love these diapers! They are absorbent and hold in newborn blowouts like a dream. Our LO has been sleeping through the night for three months now, and a cover with both included inserts inside the pocket keeps her dry for 10 hours. Very husband-friendly, too. Our tall 15 lb 5-month old has been wearing these since birth, and the diapers are still on the first setting.

The only problem we had was when my father-in-law decided to help with the laundry, and threw the dipes in the dryer (we hang dry usually) with FIVE fabric softner sheets! Ack! It was leak city after that. We contacted Cotton Babies, who promptly responded and told us to try washing with Dawn, and it completely saved our diapers. Thanks, Cotton Babies!

After using this product for a while I discovered my kids had a suedecloth sensitivity. This was after multiple strippings, changes in detergent.. tweaking of my wash routine.. Everything. I took the BG out of my rotation completely and have not had one issue since. I sold every last one of them which was fine. The aplix was falling apart and they did NOT fit my 30lb toddler in the least. There are much better one size pockets on the market if you ask me. I know BG came out with a fleece lined pocket, but you could not pay me to buy another aplix diaper. Too much investment to buy them and convert them myself.. when I can buy something with snaps already. I am glad to be rid of them now. I like other BG products for my youngest (the organic aio).. just despise the pockets.

Very disappointing for me. I would recommend buying 1 to try before investing heavily in them. Luckily I did just that because my son gets a terrible rash from the inner liner which is not the soft fleece of other pocket diapers. Also the inserts are not very absorbent and there are way too many buttons on the diaper and liner that make me uncomfortable just looking at them. I did like that they came with 2 inserts which is very cost effective.

There are many great things about this diaper -- just make sure to try them before you plunge into buying a whole stash like I did. It seems that my baby is allergic to the polyester fabric and always gets a rash when we use these. It's too bad because in terms of style, fit, absorbency and overall quality, they are great (no blowouts!). I've tried everything to see if it is ""user error"" that's causing the rash - but we've switched detergents a handful of times, change him frequently, never use creams -- and still the rash. Now we've now switched to using the old fashioned cotton diapers with Thirsties covers. This works GREAT, no rashes or any irritation. This system has another benefit over the BGs - with BGs, there is so much to wash since the fairly bulky covers must be washed each time. This creates more work and lots of water waste. With Thirsties, you can reuse the cover a handful of times before it needs washing. I also like how Thirsties are US made, unlike BGs.

We still use the BGs here and there, so they are nice to have for those rare occasions (babysitter etc.) BUT given how much they cost, and how rarely we use them, I feel like I wasted a bunch of money.

The rise is way too short, I had to buy a diff. brand that has a higher rise. They also leave red marks on all their backs and legs. I had issues w/ the PUL separating from the fabric, and cottonbabies has an AMAZING return policy on their products. They have been great to work with. Overall, I'm happy with them. Washing them is kinda a pain in the butt. The aplix/velcro tabs are already starting to look a little ratty. I feel like I waste so much water washing these, they need to soak for a while to get stains and smells out, and an extra rinse is always needed. I use Planet detergent. I really can't imagine these lasting up to 35 lbs. But over all it's an OK diaper

I like this diaper quite a bit for a pocket style. It's been a diaper bag staple for outings since day one and has fit well for 10 months now, plus it still looks great. We don't use it daily, but have used it about as frequently as the Happy Heinys One Size we have and suedecloth has held up better than the pilly fleece on the HH.

I'm not sure if it will really last through 35 pounds considering that the rise already seems on the low side for my 10 month 20 pounder (the HH prevails in that area), but when she was very small this one size fit her the best. I like that it came with two inserts. I have other pockets that came with hemp inserts and since my daughter wets more heavily now I put microfiber inserts on top of a natural ones these days anyway so I still get use out of both.

I like to use a bamboo prefold under the big insert in this for nights or naps, I think the suedecloth does a good job of keeping dd feeling dry. I've heard others say that the laundry tabs come undone but I haven't had this problem, we always put it in a mesh bag to wash anyway.

I do wish it came in snaps, hopefully this is coming now that the organic does.

I have posted about my experience with these diapers early on, so I thought I'd update at 6 months

My daughter was 6 lbs when she was born and very tall. She is still taller than most, but has filled out her weight. BumGenius have fit her well since she was 2 weeks old, although from time to time, we have to open the next set of snaps and adjust her fit. She is now at the largest setting and 16 pounds, so I do wonder if she will actually outgrow them in the first year.

I had big leaking problems after a few months with these diapers. I adjusted the absorbancy of her inserts to no avail and stripped them with Dawn many times. In fact, they seemed to get worse every time I did it. Then I realized that the problem was hard water after I put some bleach in the wash water and the water turned brown. Makes sense that the problem would worsen after stripping with all the extra rinses you put the diapers through.

I never suspected hard water because it doesn't seem to be a problem in other aspects of our water usage. So either I have always lived withh very hard water and I don't know the difference, or it doesn't take much hardness at all to make diapers leaky.

I purchased RLR Laundry treatment from the Kitchen Drawer website and it works miracles. I rarely strip the diapers for detergent residue because I switched to Allen's, but every 2 months or so, I strip them for minerals and have had no leaking problems since.

One warning: if you add boiling water to the washer as many websites recommend, the stiching on the laudry tabs will shrink and the tabs will become useless. It's not a major functional issue, it's just extra time for you to clear the lint and hair out of the velcro tabs every wash.

These are my favorite diapers- my son is now 12 months and 28 lbs and they still fit him as well as they did when he was 4 mo. 15 lbs. He's a big guy, but starting to stretch up rather than out so I think i'll be able to use these for a long time to come still.
the only thing that I wish would work better are the laundry tabs, after a couple months of washings they don't really stick anymore. It doesn't get in the way of getting them clean though so it's not a deal breaker.
I like that they can be stuffed for an infant or a toddler, and the insert that comes with them is good. Takes a few washings to reach the full absorbancy but now I prefer them over hemp. they seem to keep him dry and prevent diaper rash too which is great. I use either Imse Vimse liners or Bummies liners with them and they stay nice and white.

I have been using bumGenius one-size diapers since my son was a few months old. Had I known about these before investing in a large lot of pre-folds and covers, I would have gone exclusively with the bumGenius.

They are wonderful all around. They are durable (I am still using many of my originals two years later), adjustable from birth to potty training, super absorbent and can be tailored to your child's absorbency needs, easy to use, and easy to care for. The 3.0 version is the BEST with the addition of the top ridge of PUL to keep moisture from wicking onto child's shirt and the newborn sized insert.

The Cotton Babies customer care people could not be better. They even replaced defective diapers months after purchase and are always willing to help. Buy directly from them and save money and get the added peace of mind that they will back their products.

And we had problems with the aplix scratching his tummy or his thigh - but we've had problems with other aplix covers too so that may just be our personal preference for snaps.

Quality-wise seemed to be an excellent diaper, and the insert absorbs well.

I bought the first one to try it out and loved it and then the next I got them when they were on sale. I absolutely love these diapers. I bought two more used...I am going to buy a few more to top up my stash. I use ""amaze"" when I am rinsing the diapers and they get rid of all the stains...they come out beautifully clean and then I wash with tide and last rinse is with vinegar which takes out any residue left and it works beutifully. Oh yeah and I use a liner(kushies) doesn't stain as much and makes poop clean up a breeze. I just adore this diaper and I can see it lasting for a lot longer on her as it has a great rise unlike the rumparooz( which I love as well but seem tiny for a one size diaper). Dont hesitate to buy this diaper.

LOVE these diapers!

You need a special detergent for them, but other then that super easy to care for,(but if you get country save from london drugs, its really cheap) they stay on better then disposables(my baby shows bum crack in disposables). They only leak if his little winki is pointing the wrong way or if he has a very long night, which even disposables leak then, So i think they are wonderful. Stuffing them is so quick and easy. I like the fact that they recommend just a dry diaper pail !!!!!wonderful!!!!!.

TIP- I rinse them once in cold water before taking out the inserts, because i rinse in cold and then wash in hot with an extra rinse. They come out way cleaner then if i wash cold then rinse in hot twice (like they recommend), it comes out way cleaner, my wash machine actually has setting so i dont have to keep going back to it and i dont have to touch pee liners after the diaper change (cause then how do you wash your hands with out touching your baby when you cant leave them on the change table. Or i don't have to touch them when they have been sitting and the smell is intense. I feel like these diapers are a win win for me and the environment..

I am a first time mom and would recommend these diapers to any first time mom or first time cloth diaperer.

These are a great pocket diaper. We mostly have used cotton prefolds for the last 8 years, but know to expect different things from different types of diapers. The BumGenius 3.0 is VERY handy when we have a babysitter...less intimidating for a new sitter than pinning! I love the new colors too!

I purchased several of these diapers for my newborn son and have used them on him since he was 2 weeks old. I was surprised at how trim they were on him. I have had one or two leaks with this diaper, but mainly because I didn't change it soon enough. However, it contains his 'blowouts' completely.
The only complaint that I have is that they stain quite badly. I have followed all the 'rules' for washing them and they still stain. I have several Happy Heiny's too and these do not stain at all.

I know everyone loves these...I do not. I really didn't want to buy these in the first place, but needed some kind of dependable diaper for outings. When I got it I thought it was scratchy on the inside---and then---I found out my DD is allergic to suede cloth! :( She also had a reaction to the BG Organic AIO so it may just be BG all together! The fit is nice with these diapers, but they don't seem to be very comfortable for baby---I am sticking to all-cotton options!

We absolutely LOVE these diapers! They fit great and are super cute! Only issue is washing. My son is exclusively BF and for some reason we have a lot of staining issues. We wash every other day and follow all the rules (no diaper cream, specific detergent, no softener, etc)! It took a lot of different wash variations to figure out a way they come out mostly clean! And it's taking a lot of wash cycles! The diapers themselves are EXCELLENT, just not sure if it's something we're doing or what!

One of my new favorites! I am currently using the bum Genius on my 2 year old, but soon will have a newborn in diapers as well, so I look forward to the versatility of using the same diaper on 2 different sized children. I love the suedecloth interior...no pilling or loss of softness! The inserts are nice and absorbent, and I like that the diapers come with the adjustable insert as well as the small doubler. A great diaper, especially for those new to cloth who need an easy alternative to disposables!

I received 24 of these as a shower gift and ended up selling them because they are made from 100% polyester, which is an endocrine disruptor. My family thought that at least the inside and doublers were made of cotton, but the product is 100% polyester. I was going to exchange these for the organic cotton version, but was told they take too long to dry because the layers of cotton are all sewn to the diaper instead of coming as doublers or inserts. If you are looking for an easy to launder natural fiber next to your baby's skin, this is not the diaper. I went with unbleached indian cotton prefolds and wool covers instead and am very happy with the quality of the products and the ease of washing and drying. If the synthetics don't concern you, then maybe this diaper is for you. Hopefully Cotton Babies will develop an easy to launder, affordable cotton version of this well-designed diaper.

When I first bought these diapers I primarily used them when out of the house because they are easy to put on and everything is in one piece. We mainly use prefolds. I was quite happy and had no complaints. I had no issues with leaks, or smell. However, I did find that both the covers but mostly the inserts were stained and none of my laundering techniques worked to get the stains out of the inserts. After reading that I could bleach them I did this and the stains were gone. Around the same time I had diaper rash issues and I needed Rx cream to fix it as poor baby's bottom became infected.

Well, next thing I know, my diapers are leaking, I scrubbed with dawn, but discovered that 2 of my 6 were leaking through the PUL cover. Another cover doesn't seem to be leaking but it is missing PUL in a few places and about a month or so later, I have repelling problems so I stripped 2 more times and they still repel. FInally I resorted to oxyclean (I think this is a no no for washing these diapers) and a lot of hot washes. No more repelling but another diaper is leaking through the cover.

I have contacted Bummies in Canada and I have clearance to return the first 2 leaking diapers. I am lucky that I purchased these on line and have a record of buying them because proof of purchase is required if you want to try to return a defective diaper. The third leaking diaper was bought locally and gee, I didn't think to keep the receipt and even if I had, the receipt would only state what I paid, not what I had bought.

I am happy that I can return 2 of my diapers, however, I am not impressed with the performance of these diapers and the hassle of caring for them. Cloth diapering with prefolds is easy. Washing is easy, changing them while out of the house can be challenging when you have a toddler who tries to escape when you change her on the floor.

I am now on the hunt for a more durable all in one type diaper.

We are very new to CD'ing as we only started 2 months ago, but my DH and I LOVE these diapers. They are so easy to use, and they fit my 15 month old DD wonderfully. She is very tall (95% for height) but not chubby (50% weight) and I was worried that they wouldn't fit her given some other posters problems that I'd read about, but she has plenty of room to grow in them. We haven't had any leaks or blowouts and we use the diapers for day and nighttime when DD sleeps 11-12 hours straight. I was also concerned b/c we were already experiencing the ""stinkies"" even though these are new dipaers, but I realized I was using too much detergent b/c I was washing a smaller load of diapers and not adjusting the amount of detergent. I did a couple of extra rinses and decreased the detergent and they are smell free. We're so glad we switched to cloth as it helps us feel that we are doing our small part for the environment and helping our wallet out in the process.

I LOVE the performance of these! They are our go to diaper! They have fit our LO since the very beginning and are still working great at nine months.
The only things we would change are we prefer snaps to aplix and although I like the stretchy tabs I wish they were waterproof. Sometime when our LO sleeps on her side we get wicking out the tabs. This is the only type of leak we have ever had. These are great diapers!!

I love my 2.0 BumGenius pockets. They can be stuffed with my prefolds easily if I ever run out of the inserts that came with them. They're nicely absorbent, the leg gussets didn't leak breastfead newborn goopy poop or breastfed/ solid food eating toddler firmer goop, and the back kept everything in as well. My boy was never chunky and I never had a problem with bulk (unless I had it stuffed with a prefold and an insert).

I think the insert stopper would be a great plus as the tops of mine are just the same poly lining as the rest of the diaper and there were a few times when the top would roll over itself and his shirt or pants would wick the urine up.

No problems with snaps or hook/loop fasteners.

Make sure you do wash at least the inserts in HOT water and dry them good to get optimal absorbency.

I don't use these at night, mostly cause I thought it took more time than disposables when I first started changing diapers and just haven't even tried since then.

After a year of regular use one leg gusset elastic broke but the diaper is still fully functional with a prefold used as a liner instead of as a stuffer.

Great great diapers!

BG OS diapers are a great diaper, but they are not perfect for every baby. They have fit my little girl from about 7 pounds to her current 12 pounds very well. She has a higher rise than average for her weight, so she is in mediums already for most diapers and I am having to size up on her sized diapers. The inserts that come with these diapers are great. I am not a huge fan of the covered pocket opening as it tends to get full of poop. These are a top-selling diaper for me, so there is clearly a lot of BGOS love going around, but as with any high profile diaper some love them and some don't. I think they work great for thinner kids and are not so great for chunky babies. They are a great choice for a one size diaper though, since they do save you the expense of buying smalls and mediums and they will replace larges for more petite children. I can put this diaper on my 36 pound 2 year old niece, but it is tight. It fits her ""built-like-a-stick"" 5 year old sister just fine.

I love the fact that these diapers stay so dry against my baby's skin. I sometimes can't even tell that he's wet because the outside is completely dry. I wash every other day with Charlies Soap and a swirl or two of Dawn dish soap and I have had no problems with leaking. The only concern I have with the diaper is that when he was a newborn I just couldn't put him in this diaper, he was just drowning in it and looked so uncomfortable. He's now 8 1/2 weeks old and wears it regularly in the rotation and always at night.

I only have positive things to say about these diapers! They hold a TON and never leak with both inserts for my 4 month old who sleeps for 9-10 hours at night. Her diaper is always heavy but dry against her bum. messes are contained and they just fit her perfectly! She is about 14 1/2 lbs and is on the middle snap for the rise which we changed pretty early on. They have never leaked for me, poo sprays off cleanly, they are easy to stuff and they wash up well! These work well. I used them as an overnight diaper and they leaked sometimes, but not badly. I sold them because of that, but after my experience with other diapers, I plan on buying them again and trying different inserts.

I feel they held up well to washing. I line dried them, so the elastic and aplix were in great condition when I sold them. They are a bit bulky with both inserts, but a night diaper needs a lot of stuffing.

Realizing that after over 2 years my first was still in diapers, with my second child I wanted to ""go Green"", so I searched the internet and tried to find ""the perfect"" cloth diaper. Bum Genius is pretty darn close. I bought some unbleached fitteds and one size diaper covers with velcro. Not bad.Slightly time consuming and as soon as my NB is wet she screams until I change her. These are my last resort. I have some pockets with hemp inserts. OK. No leaks. Bulkier than I would like. And all those different sizes!
I only have 6 BumGenius and I wash them everyday. VERY easy to care for and easy to use. Bottom line is that I'm buying more. Except for the stuffing part I think they are as easy as disposables. I drop in my dry pail with tabs secured and then remove inserts as i drop in wash. Rinse, cold wash, hot wash, rinse rinse then tumble dry. Narry a stain on the insert and covers are perfect. Seems like since they are one size you just can't go wrong.

I bought mine in a lot of 6 from diapers.com with a coupon code (FRESHBABY) which was good only on my first purchase, so I got $10 off my order & free shipping. You could just buy one from them (they carry other brands) to see what works for you. New to cloth diapering? Confused? Use Bum Genius! You will be glad you did!

These diapers were great....at first.

I am giving these a 3 because plain and simple, they just dont last. For the first 6 months, these were my go-to diaper...no leaks, great fit, and great for overnight.

Now, 6 months after purchasing them, the velcro tabs are so curled they barely stay latched and they are scratching my sons tummy. They leak HORRIBLE at night now, even triple stuffed. My son has been on the largest setting since he was 4 months old. Hes now 7 months and 21 lbs and these are already getting too small on him.

If they made these in snaps instead of velcro, i think they would hold up much longer. They are a good diaper to hold out for a short time, but dont expect these to last through potty training, the velcro tabs just dont hold up and the diaper isnt a true ""one size"" diaper.

I just have to give this awesome, popular diaper a five, even though it has it's shortcomings. LOL. They say a pocket diaper is only as good as its inserts and the CB inserts are very absorbent.
This was one of the first diapers I fell in love with because of cuteness factor... and mostly because of performance. I was able to use this diaper on my large one month old until he turned eight months! I would say they saved me money since I didn't have to size up. I also used the BGs at night with a hemp doubler. Cloth diapering was fun and easy!
Unfortunately, my ds developed an allergy to the suedecloth. I should also mention that we had a few problems along the way..like aplix and elastic, but nothing that Cottonbabies doesn't cover in their wonderful guarantee!!
So I say go ahead and buy this diaper, you can't go wrong. You can return it or some other BG loving mama will be happy to take it off your hands. ;)

I bought this to try a 'one sized' diaper. My oldest is super skinny and can still wear his size medium Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers. I was going to get a larger size for him as he is a super soaker and we have a new baby. I thought both could use the one size cds. Anyway, after washing it and using it on both we found that the 'one size' isn't really a 'one size"". BG 3.0 seems to have a short rise that gives our skinny older ds {who was 27/28lbs at the time} a plummers bum! It was pretty frustrating as there is NO way this can be used for both of our children. I think BG shouldn't say it is a 'one size' when clearly it isn't.
I think the color was cute and the velcro was easy for DH and people to use. I liked that it came with two inserts although I wished the snaps weren't on the inserts. The snaps can hurt little boys if they sit on them in the diaper. I use our MOE & Happy Heiny's inserts instead.

I originally ordered a three-pack to see how these would fit our newborn, ease of washing/usage, etc. Well, I ordered six more a month ago, and FIFTEEN more just arrived today! These will be our primary diaper once our girl outgrows her infant prefolds. The original three have been in regular rotation for about two and a half months, washing every other day (though for the past month it's been every day), line dried though occasionally thrown in the dryer so they would be ready for bedtime. It is our favorite diaper for nighttime. They are simple to put on and they keep the rash away, even after 10 hour sleep stretches. DD is 11 weeks old, 25 inches long, 13 pounds and still on the smallest snap setting. We use the infant insert during the day (sometimes use a Smaller Weeds or a hemp doubler if going out), and the regular one-size insert at night. Never had leaking, wicking, or blowout even with EBF nasties. The new colors are nice and lush, and the aplix laundry tabs always stay fastened. Only thing is that we just developed slight microfiber stink, but I'm running a small bleach load to remedy that, per cotton babies' instructions. All in all, we are thrilled with these dipes and are excited to use them full-time! I love to show people how easy cloth can be, too. Might have a few converts soon. Both Cotton Babies and Nicki's Diapers have been great to work with, also.

These are cute and I like the ease of the pocket diaper-these are my nighttime dipe but a weird thing happens with them-I have to use an additional cover over them because they wick moisture out the brand tag. I've never heard of this happening to anyone else but it happens with all the BG diapers I have (10). I did not use it but a couple of time - way? My son was getting a rash from the tabs in the back that hold down the valcro. I had to stop after like 2 uses. I just started to try again , it seems to be better now. Fit is good, but when I bought the one I have it did not come with the insert, so what I use is a prefold. Not sure if I would buy more, or not.
I am use to fitted , and like the fact that fitted keep poop in. These don't hold the poop in to well.

I thoroughly researched both FB & BG and decided to check out the BG 3.0 pocket & the organic AIO. First of all Abby's Lane was super quick about shipping. The diaper is beautiful, VERY well made. I stuffed my pocket with an infant prefold, and both the infant & larger insert that it came with. I put it on my daughter for bed, woke up 10 hours later and her skin was dry, the fleece was dry to the touch. AMAZING!!! This is the first time she (and sometimes me too) hasn't woken up drenched from our prefold/bummis cover system. The fit was really great! She has always been a big girl, and grown VERY fast, but I think because as babies grow they start to get longer & more mobile the baby chubs in her legs will thin a bit to keep this diaper going until PLing. She is 9mo and 24lbs.

I have only washed once so I can't attest to longevity. I'm not a super picky CDing mom so things like pilling and stains don't bug me, but I will update in a month or so with more information on the condition after several washes.

I just have to reiterate though, this is such an amazing diaper! I LOVE it!!! *Will be ordering more!*

I think these diapers get the job done and well! I have the 2.0 and the 3.0 versions and see almost no difference between the two types. When I purchased the 3.0's, in addition to the one-size insert, I received the newborn insert, which would have been great to have on hand when my son was a newborn (we used disposables because the bumGenius AIO's with the one-size insert were just too big on him; to the point his clothes didn't fit). None of the diapers I received were defective (snaps, velco, etc.) and have held up beautifully in the wash. I mostly line dry (great for getting out the stains) but sometimes use the dryer. The drawback of this diaper is that my son has chubby thighs (5 months, 21 pounds) and it is unlikely these diapers will last until potty training. He's already in the largest setting and the elastic leaves slight red marks on his thighs. It is possible he'll lengthen out as he grows, allowing the diapers to last longer, but I see these diapers as lasting until 35 pounds for leaner babies, not the chubby ones.

I went back to work for the first time since my daughter was born (she is now almost 2) and I am lucky enough to be able to take her with me. However, my job is VERY demanding and busy (I'm a pet groomer) and fitteds and fleece or covers, no matter how nice/expensive/well-made, were not working with us. So I took a chance and bought a few BG OS to see how they work. Now I own about 18 and am able to easily cloth diaper at work!

Pros:
fit DD VERY well
it's nice to have the layover tab to snug fit
DON'T leak - we've used them every minute of the day for a month straight and have yet to have any leaks!
diaper iteslf is holding up very well with daily washing
cute colors
well-made
inserts are awesome!

Cons:
velcro tabs aren't holding up so well with lots of washing
laundry tabs don't always hold up when washing - I had the velcro on a BGOS ruin one of my sweaters because the tab detatched and scratched all over my wool sweater :(
I don't think these are truly OS - my dd is very slim so I think we will be fine, but I can't imagine these fitting all the way up to PL'ing with a chunky baby

overall, I love them. I just wish the design of the tabs could be worked on some!

We have now used this diaper for 11 months. We started using it at 3 weeks. Overall, this diaper is very good and is still our primarily diaper. We did have some problems for a couple of months, when our son had large thighs and a small waist. Now that he is crawling, his thighs slimmed down and they fit again.

Our son is a heavy wetter. We stopped using these overnight a couple of months ago. We had to change to a disposable overnight diaper, because we could not find any cloth that could contain all the pee. We did try doublers.

These diapers really do hold up. We did get some staining when he ate blueberries. We now try to keep track and make sure the diapers get changed about every three hours. If we wait any longer, we will start to get leaks around the legs. When he slept in these diapers, we did also have leaks around the tabs.

These diapers are very easy to separate and the poop usually rolls off easily.

I like these... but they're not my favorite. First of all, because they are NOT going to fit my son through potty-learning. No way. He's 14 pounds, and they fit him great now- but I've heard they don't fit after 25 pounds at most. My other son was 38 pounds when he stopped needing diapers!

The velcro... I had been warned about this, but I wanted to try it for myself. It just doesn't last! It already feels like they're starting to loosen up.

But these diapers ARE absorbant and they look cute- especially the new colors. And they haven't leaked for us yet.

Of all my pocket brands, though, these aren't as good as my Wahmies. :)

BG did not work for us. They are very absorbent, but do not hold up well (yes I washed according to instructions). They hold in smell and are a pain to stuff. I just prefer to reuse a cover over washing the whole diaper after each use. The biggest pain is that the elastic was wearing out and I didn't use vinegar or anything to make that happen. The final reason why we sold them all was because the elastic made horrible read marks on my baby's skin. I now use soft fitteds with wool covers. I guess that could just be my own child's sensitivity but BG are not for us. Cotton babies is a great company though!

I ordered a couple used BG 2.0 first before I commited to buy a stash of 3.0.
I really like this diaper - the suede cloth washed up great and still looks brand new - no pilling like on other models with fleece inner.
I love that it is a one size and will last me a long time and my husband loves the velcro tabs.
The one size inserts are great and hold a lot of liquid.

I whish they would make a snap version of the same diaper but I guess you can't have it all.

It is a great quality diaper - even the quality of the seconds I bought on sale is great and you can hardly tell the difference!
As with all velcro diapers the velcro is going to show wear and tear but you can minimize that my line drying the pockets ( they do dry very fast in just a couple of hours and in about half an hour on a sunny day outside ! )

I am recommending it to everyone who wants an easy to use, leakproof, one size, husband friendly pocket diaper- you won't find anything better in this price range ( I tried fuzzy bunz, happy heinis, thirsties, Gad( which I love but they don't make a one size or velcro),snapez( great diaper but like GAD),and swaddlebees ( too trim for my chubby baby).
Get them on sale or as seconds if you can...:)

I would like to beging by saying that Cotton Babies is a good company who have worked very hard at resolving my issue. I bought 12 diapers and began having velcro issues with several of them. The velcro was pilling and the hooks were coming apart. After discussion with cust. service, they determined it was a problem w/ some of the diapers as I was not having an issue w/ all diapers. They allowed me to return them for knew ones. After a few months w/ the new ones several more of the diapers had the same issue. After contacting CB a second time, they instructed me to do the same and return them for new ones. Now I am having the same issues again w/ the new replacements. I am tired of returning them and am just thinking about resigning myself to velcro-compromised diapers. I am following the care instructions to the letter and since this keeps reoccuring even w/ replacements, I am beginning to think it the diapers.

Other than the velcro I LOVE these diapers and really wish the velcro was more effective.

My diapering collection includes a set of 12 one-size-fits-all bumgenius. They are my go-to diapers that I can count on anytime. Pros and cons I've found during six months of bumgenius use:

Pros...
- Easy to set up
- The toughest diaper I have against leaks and explosions
- The ONLY diaper I have that can make it through the night
- Adjustable size makes this a more affordable diaper, long-term

Cons...
- Because of poly liner on the inside of the diaper cover, I have to wash the diaper covers after every use, otherwise they smell bad. This makes for slightly bigger laundry loads. Other covers (with no poly liner) I can air out and use multiple times without washing.
- Uncovered velcro tabs make it tricky to leave the baby without clothes, in only the diaper: When my husband and I pick her up for holding or burping, the tabs often leave big scratches on our chests. This is a problem as we live in the Caribbean and it's too hot for baby or anybody else to wear much clothing.

Overall I like the bumgenius and would recommend them to anyone. (I only wish they would cover their velcro on the outside!).

In addition to bumgenius, I also use microfiber flats and Tiny Tush hemp diapers with a variety of different covers: Thirsties, MotherEase Rikki wrap, Staccinator wool, Prorap, Cot'n wrap and Nikky lambswool felt. My favorite of all is the Nikky lambswool (the softest, best-fitting and most absorbent thing out there), but as it's an expensive item and comes in 6 different sizes, I could never afford a full set. The bumgenius is a great, affordable alternative.

We bought 24 of these because we didn't want to purchase many sizes of all in ones- we wanted to keep it simple. We also like that they can be stuffed to our liking. They didn't fit our baby initially though. He fit into them around 10 pounds. He is now 13 and fits into the smallest setting still. Our biggest gripe is the velcro. It is not very sturdy and likely will not hold up since we've only been using the diapers a couple of months. Overall, we really like these diapers and recommend them, but feel we can't speak for how they work on older babies since ours is only 2 months. I used the newborn all in ones when he was born and those are great.

Pros-
cheaper than other one size diapers
never leaked and contains powerful poops well
easy for anyone to use - on the wiggliest baby
you can stuff them how you want
dry quick because you can take them apart unlike all in ones
cute looking
soft
material wears well after many washes

Cons-
Velcro not sturdy
sorta have a strange smell, fixed after a third wash
can't use diaper cream
stuffing before use, this can get old!
a little bulky in a diaper bag compared to disposables, but worth it for the containment

These were the first diapers I purchased when I entered the cloth diapering world and after having tried countless others these are still one of my favorites. They are a great option if you are considering converting to cloth because in my opinion they are most like disposables. The stretchy sides and aplix make them easy to get a tight fit on even the wiggliest of babies, daddy can even do it. I like pocket diapers because you can stuff them to suit your baby's needs...as my son grew bigger and wet more, I just added the doubler inside to make them more absorbant. I like that these are one size because I now use them on largest setting for my son, but can use the small one on a second child...so that I can put one in the diaper bag and use for either kid.

I am a Fuzzi Bunz customer, who only found out about BG after I bought my FBs. I've heard great things about FBs, and always wondered if I made the right choice. After all, I could have saved money and bought just one size of BG, rather than three sizes of FB. When my in-laws bought a summer place, I bought a dozen gently used BGs to keep there, from a friend who was selling hers. Having tried both diapers, I can say from experience that I prefer the Fuzzi Bunz, and it's worth the extra cost.

Here's why: First, I prefer FBs snaps to BG velcro. The velcro is WAY too easy for my toddler to get into, and it translates into diaper removed while trying to put diaper on, diaper removed during nap, peeing in crib, no nap. UGH! I also don't like how poop can easily get into the velcro in the BGs. Sure it washes out, but it's still gross. In addition, the BGs are harder and more time consuming to assemble, because they require adjustments going into the laundry and adjustments coming out, depending on baby's size. In addition, I would end up having to buy different sizes of hemp inserts anyway -- we have a fairly heavy wetter, and we really prefer the hemp/fleece inserts to the cotton. Maybe BGs are sold with the hemp/fleece insert option instead of cotton, but we didn't have that option since we bought ours used. Hemp/fleece absorbs more and stains less.

All of these things combined just make me really prefer my Fuzzi Bunz. I'm glad I had a chance to try the BGs, but if I had to make a recommendation, it would be for Fuzzi Bunz.

This is an updated review. I sold all of the 2.0s and replaced them with 3.0s. The fit is much better for skinny legs. I saw several posts regarding stink issues. I have not experienced any stink or repelling problems with my wash routine. I thought I would share and save some of you with these issues the headache of trial and error washing. I have a front load washer that I put on the ""heavy"" setting and extra rinse setting. The first wash I do is 1.5 teaspoons of Allens Naturally detergent in cold water. Once this is complete I do another wash on the same settings but change the water setting to hot. I add half a scoop of Oxiclean Baby to this wash. Then, I dry everything on medium heat. I did have stink issues with the 2.0s when I followed the manufacturer's wash routine. After several failed attempts I tried the Oxiclean Baby and it worked. No stink or repelling.

The best thing about these diapers, in my opinion, is that they hold their re-sale value. In fact, people will trip over themselves to buy them from you at a discount, even if they need stripping.

I understand the concept of them, and really really wanted them to work. But they really really didn't.

Their customer service is good. One lady spent quite a long time on the phone with me trying to figure out what I had done wrong--again--to cause the diapers to start repelling and sending pee out the side into his clothes instead of into the absorbent core. I was using the right detergent, the right amount, and following all the complicated laundering directions carefully to a T. Finally we hit on it--I had washed them in the same water with a diaper made of bamboo.

Well, that did it for me. Any garment that is designed to be peed and pooped on, in my opinion, needs to be less finicky about how it is subsequently cleaned. Someone with more patience or skill in the laundry room benefited from a great deal on my barely-used bumgenius diapers.

These have been great diapers so far. They do not, do not, DO NOT leak!!! And that is wonderful! They are also very cute and easy to use. They also do not pill with washing. My major complaint is the Velcro is getting munched in the wash. When I go to pull a diaper out of the dryer, they all pull out at one time because they are all stuck together! For this reason alone, I would probably choose a different cloth diaper if there is a next time. I definitely see the value in a snap-style diaper now. Also, I kind of get tired of ""stuffing"" them every time I do a diaper change, which, of course, is the nature of a pocket diaper. Someone mentioned that the Velcro was rubbing against their baby's tummy. This has happened with my daughter as well, which bothered me a bit. Also, sometimes I feel like they are a big of a snug fit, and my daughter is only in the 55% for weight and is only 6 months old. Last thing - it's a pain that I can't use diaper rash ointment. Other than that, these diapers have been a very positive introduction to cloth diapering!

BumGenius diapers were the first that I tried in my cloth-diapering venture. I have to say that overall I really like them. We have had very few, if any, leaks in this diaper. However, I notice that sometimes my 8-month old son has red marks from the velcro touching his belly. He doesn't seem to mind at all, but I know I wouldn't like Velcro on my skin! I love the concept of an all-in-one diaper, but wish that maybe they could be made with snaps to allviate this problem. Overall,I am satisfied with BumGenius 3.0 diapers!

Pros: cute colors, snaps match PUL color, poo falls pretty easily off ""suede cloth"", leg casings are snug enough they prevent leaks out legs
Cons: The tabs are impossibly tiny to grab onto and fasten easily, plus there's just not much tab to ensure it'll stick well. The side tabs aren't very generous for babies with big bellies (& my baby is in the 10th % in weight & 90th in height, so she's not too chubby). The leg casings seem to leave red marks on even my newborn, the elastic seems overly tight. Then envelope at the back drives me nuts. It's difficult to stuff, and a mess to unstuff. These dipes also don't easily lay flat with the rest of my pockets.
If you need a one-size, I give 5 stars to Happy Heiny's. The tabs are way easy and add no extra bulk. (I can fit my kiddo into the same pair of jeans in either the HH or sized Fuzzi's. These didees fit my newborn & 2 year old. Easy and practical!

I love this diaper and it is the first that I reach for. It is my overnight diaper and we don't have any problems with leaks. So far no problems with the elastic, staining or stinkiness of the insert. The microfiber is great for releasing the poo into the toilet. Many stores carry them so it's easy to add one at a time to your stash. At first I bought 2 of them and used prefolds and fitteds but gradually I have added more to my stash (thank you economic stimulus check). Now that my daughter is more active I am using them almost exclusively because the velcro is fast. Only downside is the area for the insert is right in the area where there is poo so at laundry time it's hard to get the insert out without touching poo. Still, I love this diaper, it's as easy to use as disposables.

This is a review for the 2.0s
Pros-easy to use, pretty good fit
Cons-the elastic is shot in every one of them (12), the velcro no longer sticks, the tabs are pilly. I find them difficult to stuff because they're too narrow and I don't like the placement of the pocket opening, it can be messy to remove the inserts. They also leaked, especially through the stretchy tabs.
I'm very disappointed and would not recommend as they didn't make it much beyond a year and they look 5 years old. That said, I sent an email to Bummis about my concerns and I must say the customer service was A++. I received a prompt reply with the offer of 4 3.0s to try for free (couldn't replace 12 dipes since it had been over a year).

Overall this is a great diaper, esp for first time cloth diapering parents. I started with Bum Genius 2.0 one-size pockets as my entire stash when my daughter was 8 weeks old. I used them exclusively. Good things: quite simple once you teach everyone who is diapering your child, absorbant. I felt the polar-fleece lining washed better than the now-offered suede cloth lining for getting stains out. Down sides: Bulky diaper on a small baby. Also over time, the diapers durability wore out. Although the diapers served me well, after 15 months of constant use the elastic leg gathers were shot and I had to replace my entire stash. This is to be expected since elastic wears out after many, many washes and wears. Overall great choice, although I would recommend having other choices (like different sized pockets and fitteds) in your stash for different sizes of your baby as well.

I bought the BG 3.0 as my first cloth diapers when my son was 7 months old. At first I thought they were the best thing out there, easy to use and wash. However, my son soon developed a horrible rash which required prescription cream to clear up. We would switch to disposables for a while and every time we put him back in the BG the rash came back. Also the inserts do get VERY stinky after only a few weeks and require bleach to get out the stink.

It's really too bad because they fit well and are a reasonable purchase because you only need the one size, BUT there is obviously an issue with the synthetic materials used. If you google ""bumgenius"" and ""rash"" you'll find a lot of other people who've had the same problem. I'd think twice and go with fleece or a natural material like cotton or hemp before buying these.

I registered for BumGenius 2.0, but by the time my in-laws bought them, the 3.0 were out and that's what I received (30). These are awesome. The one-size rub against the umbilical cord--if I have another child I'm getting prefolds for the first 2 weeks. However, they work great otherwise. My DS learned how to undo the Velcro at 9 months--the diapers are that easy to get on and off. (A pair of shorts or pants keeps his diaper on). Each of the 3 sizes work well. I was worried when I went up to the 3rd size at 9 months--but they still fit at 13 months+. I've used DDs for traveling (1 or 2 weeks total) & have had as many accidents with them as with these diapers in 13 months. Most of the accidents I've had with BGs have been either due to needing more absorbency or ""user error."" None of my son's caretakers have had any trouble using these diapers--nor have ""Grandma & Grandpa""--even those who've never used cloth. I highly recommend these--it's easier to throw a load in the washer than to head to the store. My son also seems to prefer these to DDs. I have not had trouble with washing them--except that the extra rinse and not overloading the washer are important to getting them clean. I usually wash enough ahead of time to hang dry the outsides. My husband and I also use vinegar instead of softener (we even have a special Downy ball for vinegar only).

When I started cloth diapering, my son was eight months old. I knew nothing about it, so many moms lent me their diapers to try out and see what I liked. One was a brand new BumGenius 3.0. I was in the market for a night time diaper, with a heavy wetting son. The first night, he woke dry, but had a slightly red bottom. I tried this diaper for three more nights, and he leaked every single time - I tried more stuffing, I tried feeding him, and making sure he peed before putting this on. Nothing worked, and his bottom kept getting more and more red. Figured out soon after that the synthetic fibers were irritating his skin. My girlfriend got a deal on two dozen and asked if I wanted to go in on it...I put it on one last time, with natural fibers touching his skin. He woke up drenched - chest to knees. I much prefer my fitteds, and other brand pockets.

We are so pleased with the performance of Bumgenius 3.0 that, although we started with two dozen, we just ordered another dozen. As a first time Mom I was a little nervous about cloth diapering, but I am a total convert now and tell anyone who will listen how great these diapers are and how easy they are to clean. We had to start with disposables
because DD was only 5lbs 3oz at birth and just recently fit into the Bumgenius. I was worried that I would miss the disposables now that we are exclusively using cloth, but I don't. I have to say that the Bumgenius do a great job of wicking moisture away from her and hold poo that would have blown out of her disposables. The women at our daycare comment on how great these diapers are, and they would know! I also feel great knowing I am no longer carting a huge bag of diapers to the curb each week, only to fill our landfills for the next 500 years. Cotton Babies has a great product, great customer service, and we couldn't be happier with Bumgenius.

We started out using the kissaluv fitteds, which my husband kept forgetting to put a cover on with! They also did not stand up to my son's heavy wetting. We have been using the BumGenius 2.0 exclusively for the last 10 months or so. They have been great, whenever I had any questions or concerns (and a couple of my diapers had elastic failure-Cotton Babies replaced under warranty!) the customer service gals at Cotton Babies have been very quick to respond. Their stripping method works great, I have done it a couple times now. I can't say how much we have loved these diapers, the only thing I regret is that they won't fit my son all the way to potty training, he is just so tall and big. As far as some complaints about stinking, try the odor remover they sell at Cotton Babies-it works!

To be fair: i've tried a lot of diapers, but this is the only pocket i've tried. (mainly a fitted user)
What i don't like: Velcro. on anything. on the 2.0 it is too weak and my son pulls it off. on the 3.0 it is too strong and abrades his thigh.
I'm also not a fan of one-sized dipers in general.
There was a point in time, when he was out-peeing his infant prefolds that the BGs really helped clear up his skin. so i have liked them at points. It's good to have some stay-dry options in your stash. they are the only cloth diaper i have used outside the home. and it is nice how you can wad them up sposie-style on the go.
I liked the larger stretchy tabs on the 2.0 better than the 3.0.
Strange thing: it tool several washings for the micro-suede to not repel. so we got off to a slow start with them.
All micro fiber is prone to stink, but the cotton babies insert seems worse than one other i've tried (no idea why). We've gotten some really stinking, fishy smelling dipes. You can always just swap in a prefold instead, and plenty of folks do, esp. hemp.
So if you think you might like velcro, one-sized pockets, it could be a worthwhile diaper to try. But i'd advise anyone in the market for a pocket to maybe compare against some other alternatives.

Unlike some of the other posts I have read, my 2.0s have held up perfectly. They still hold just as well as the day I bought them. The elastic is still tight, the velcro still very sticky. I'm also OCD about lint in my velcro. So it doesn't build up.

I will definitely use for more kids although it won't get them through to PLing.

I LOVE BumGenius 3.0 diapers! My son was 9 months old when I finally decided to try cloth diapers. I bought 12, they are as easy to use as disposable without the cost and without the terrible impact to the environment.
WASHING PROCEDURE
When I first bought them, I used Tide soap thinking that the detergents listed were just recommendations. Well, after the diapers started to really stink, the stains wouldn't come out, and my son had developed a horrible rash, I called customer service and found out that I was causing all of these problems. Using the wrong detergent caused build up and the buildup reduced the absorbency of the diapers, which caused all of the above problems. I went on Amazon.com and bought 10 boxes of Planet detergent at a discount, no shipping. I have since followed the laundering procedure from CottonBabies.com and my son hasn't had a single diaper rash since then. The only thing I do differently is to use a wet pail. I use the diaper shower to rinse off all poop, then dump in a pail of water I've already added 2 TBSB of Planet detergent. Because of the frequent washings, rinsing of the diapers, and the wet pail, I'm able to keep the pail in the bathroom without any odor at all. It's soooo easy to just dump the bag of diapers into the wash and throw them into the dryer, although I would use a clothesline if I had one. They're easy to fold up again, something I do at night while watching tv. I honestly can say that this is worth the money and the little bit of extra time that it takes.
SIZE
I cannot comment on how it fits an infant, but I can say that my son is now the size of an 18 month old and he is still able to fit into the diapers. I don’t think I’ll be able to use these all the way through, however. I’ll probably have to buy different diapers when he gets close to 2 years old. Despite that fact, spending $215 on diapers for two years (that would have been the cost if I bought these when he was born) is absolutely fantas

I love this diaper. I have a 2 month old and it fits him well, and I anticipate it fitting him well as he grows. It is very easy to adjust the sizing. It is well-constructed and very soft on the inside. The outside is also softer than a lot of waterproof fabrics on other diapers. I love that you can stuff the pocket with several inserts if needed. And it wicks moisture away from the bum, which is nice for me as my baby HATES being wet.

These are our absolute favorite and the foundation of our stash. They fit perfectly from the day we returned from the hospital and are still going strong. We actually started out with the 1.0 version, and now are mostly using 2.0 and 3.0s.

Pros: Perfect fit no matter what stage, NO leaks (except in user error), the BEST customer service on the planet!, easy for dads/grandmas/aunties (you name it!), wash well, dry fast, the color selection is minimum - but what they have is nice.

Cons: Color selection is limited. Our elastic started to die between 12-18 months. Some that died earlier were replaced by CottonBabies under their guarantee, the rest my Mom helped me fix. (Fixing the elastic was actually easier than I thought.) The laundry tabs are beginning to lose their effectiveness as time goes on (they are a different material than the ""loop"" part on the front to hold the diaper on.)

Regardless, we love these diapers and recommend them highly!

This diaper is absorbent and fits well, but the thing that drove me crazy and eventually caused me to sell the 3 diapers I had was that annoying flap at the back where you put the inserts in. I never folds down smooth and I don't really see the point of it. I prefer FuzziBunz that has as ""open"" pocket opening, or Drybees, which has elastic around the opening. I also didn't like that the laundry tabs held to the velcro so strongly and I had to fight to get it off. There is also no fabric around the edges to make it easier to grip-- you have to grab the actual velcro (aplix) which is rough and scratchy. I prefer Drybees or other brands that have fabric around the velcro. These might be small things to some, but with so many diapers out there to choose from that are all very similar, this made a big difference to me.

I love these diapers! We have mostly 2.0's and a few 3.0's and I have NO complaints! These have fit our son perfectly from 6 weeks to now (about 9 months old) and they still have plenty of wear in them! We don't have a huge stash, so every diaper gets washed every other day and they are holding up great!
What I love about these:
*Super easy (very dad friendly)
*They really fit well in a variety of sizes
*The inserts are adjustable too for an even better fit
*Easy to wash and easy to stuff
*Perfect for nighttime if you add an extra insert

I can't say enough! We love these diapers and recommend to everyone we know!

These diapers used to be my favorites for several reasons. They held in messes really well, they are very convenient, easy to travel with, ect. Just recently however, the velcro on the front of the diaper has started to fray, even come off of a few. They are also pretty difficult to wash properly, at least with the water in my area. They have also started to leak quite often around the legs. My son can wet through one in less than an hour! Still very convenient, but I was disappointed they did not hold up better!

I am a BumGenius addict! I have 14 OS diapers and I have had absolutely NO problems/leaks/fit issues. My ds is 3 and skinny, so they fit him for night time, and my dd is 7 months with chunky thighs and they fit her great. The only thing that is now a slight annoyance is the laundry tabs are misshapen. I occasionally use pf's, but the BGs are perfect for traveling, going out, and no one minds changing them. Even my dad will change them, and he NEVER touched a diaper when I was a baby! LOL

I've got 24 BG 2.0's that are about 1 year old.

Every last one of them has aplix that does not stick.

The leg elastic is completely stretched out in all of them.

And most have stitching coming undone in various places too.

They were great while the lasted, but for the price of them, I expected they'd at least last through ONE child, not all fall apart in one year.

I wish I could get my money back - that's several hundred dollars that could be better spent on higher quality diapers.

I am changing my review - At first we loved this diaper, but with my heavy wetter I found that it started to wick (even though I made sure the inserts were not stuffed too far in). I also found that the synthetic fibers started to retain smells (even though we use additive free detergent). THe organic version probably doesn't do this! I also didn't like the way the microfiber felt on my hands...as though I had rough skin and it was catching...I gave them to another mama who is still in love with them :)

I loved these diapers at first. They were the first cloth diapers we tried when my daughter was 3 mos old. They were great until she was about 6 mos old when they started leaking out the leg horribly everytime she pooped. It took us awhile to figure out that the elastic in the legs of every one of our 12 diapers was shot! How disappointing! I really loved these diapers, but cannot justify spending that much $ on a diaper that will not last through even one child let alone 2 or more.

My son is 16 months old and 23/24 pounds. This diaper fits him great NOW, but I can't believe it will fit him until 35 pounds! The diaper itself seems great: no leaks, easy to stuff, very trim compared to some others, keeps my son's skin very dry, washes nicely (although I borrowed one from a friend before buying mine and the velcro was almost black...but stil worked). The microfiber insert has also started to stink, which hopefully stripping will solve.
Overall, maybe a fine diaper for some but you'll probably have to buy a different diaper in a larger size before potty training.

I was introduced to this new generation by the owner of Cozy Baby Boutique when she came to the hospital and demonstrated many of the cloth options. These diapers work like magic. They work just as well as the high quality disposables. My baby girl is a heavy wetter and she is good throughout the night with the one diaper (she sleeps from 10:30pm to 9:30am non stop!). I have to say though, that I always use both inserts that come with the diaper; this makes it a little bulkier than your average disposable, but allows you to leave the diaper on for longer. The best feature of the diaper is the flannell layer that is in touch with the baby's skin: it's always dry even when the diaper is super wet, therefore baby's skin is always dry and I've had no diaper rush incidents since using these. Cover colours are nice.

I am so disappointed in these BG's. I am not surprised at all the positive reviews, because of the amount of time they have used the diapers in the reviews. A year ago, even 9 months ago, I would have written a similar glowing review. I bought one of these to try, loved it, thought it was a great value considering it was touted to be one size to take my daughter through the rest of her diapered life, AND be reused for another child I might have, or resold after I was done with them. I didn't mind paying a higher price for the longer use I would get out of them, and I bought a dozen. The BG's were my ""go to"" diaper. We loved them!

Unfortunately, these just do not have the staying power. About 8 months ago, one of the diapers' velcro tabs pulled apart. Not a big deal; only 1 diaper out of 13. Well, things REALLY started to fall apart in the last 3 months. As of today, 3 or 4 of these BG's have velcro tabs that just don't stick anymore. They will just pop right open at any given time. Besides the diaper mentioned before, one other diaper has the velcro tab coming apart, and at least 4 of the rest of the diapers have the leg elastic completely bagged out, so they are no longer useful. They don't fit around her legs and leak when we try to put them on her as a result. So now, barely a year and a half later, more than half of the diapers I purchased are no longer of any use to me. I can't use them with my daughter anymore, I can't use them with any other children I might have, and I can't resell them. I am upset about the fact that I spent the extra money on a diaper that was supposed to last me awhile, and it just didn't. And, yes, I did wash them according to instructions, the same way I washed all my other diapers. I have two other brands I purchased at the same time as these that are holding up VERY well in comparison, and I am wishing I had spent my money on those.

I did contact the company with a long, specific letter

I purchased the 1's and then promptly sold them for the same reasons. I purchased the 2's for my toddler and ended up using them a couple of times and putting them away. Now I have tied them with my baby and still have leaks. I have other pocket diapers that I can use overnight, but these ones I can't even use for daytime. I'm really dissapointed with this diaper.

We used prefolds and proraps when DD was newborn, but when she was about 3 months we upgraded to a full stash of the bG! 2.0s. We've been using them for about a year now, and we love them. We got a little worried when started using the highest rise setting around 6 months, but she's 15 months now and they still fit her fine, so I have no reason to think that they won't last a good while yet. We wash about every 3 days on hot, dry on medium, and the diapers are showing very few signs of wear. We've had a few leaks, but usually either when DD pees a lot or we forget to change her diaper for too long (the liner is soaked). We've only had to strip them once, and that was because of some accidental diaper cream usage by the sitter. :) We use them only for daytime -- we didn't find them to be absorbent/waterproof enough for bedtime, although they're fine for naps. Adding extra stuffing does make them quite bulky, but works well when needed. All in all, a great diaper, and a good value when you consider how much use we've gotten (and still expect to get) out of them.

I love these pocket diapers! My son is 18 months old, and with a girl on the way next month, I wanted to add a bit to my cloth diaper stash. I currently mainly use prefolds with the Bummis Super Whisper Wraps covers, and I also have a few of the old-style Happy Heiny pocket diapers for going out, etc.

I decided to get a 12-pack of the bumgenius 3.0 pocket diapers from thestorkwearhouse.com (which I love, I get all my supplies from) after the owner recommended them particularly for slim/petite babies. My son is 18 months old and weighs about 20 pounds, so I figured he would fit this category.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these diapers! My husband used them before I did, and called me at work especially to tell me that he had used the bumgenius diapers and couldn't believe how well they worked - the diaper was totally dry even though the insert (and he had used the thinner, newborn insert!) was heavy and wet!

I have had them for only a short time, but would definitely recommend them to anyone with a slim/petite baby.

Overall really good diapers. I'm quite satisfied.

Pros:
1)Pretty trim
2)Quite absorbent. For overnight I use two newborn inserts on top of the regular insert. Love it that the diaper comes with both a regular and a newborn insert. Sometimes I'll reuse a shell with 2 newborn inserts for daytime use since I have more newborn inserts than I need.
3)Holds in poop really well. I pretty much only get pee leaks and that's only when I leave the diaper on for too long.
4)Dries pretty fast

Cons:
1)Pocket diaper, so a little bit of a pain to stuff. I think this would apply to any pocket diaper.
2)After 6 months of use I'm noticing the velcro fasteners and areas around them are starting to fray/come apart/come off. I'm not sure if they will last until my daughter is potty-trained, let alone last through another baby.
3) They have been at the largest setting since my daughter was 5 months old and she is 6 months now, so we'll see if the are still big enough in another year or two, if the are durable enough to last that long.

Problems/annoyances: The rise adjuster snaps popped loose every time I tried to secure the diaper to my chubby little guy. 1.Velcro - wish they had an option for snaps so they would last longer. The velcro will probably wear out before baby grows out of them.
2.Prints - while the color options are nice, I wish they had more colors and some cute prints as options, too.

SUMMARY: Great diapers, very economical (in the long run) and very easy to use, contain messes better than disposables, dry quickly in the dryer, can look bulky, washing routine can be complicated

When I first began looking into cloth diapers, it was mostly out of curiosity. I wanted to be environmentally friendly but I assumed cloth diapering would be too inconvenient. Why else would disposables have the corner on the market? My research turned my assumptions on their head. With modern cloth diapers, you can avoid pins and leaks – and still save money! (Some also say less diaper rash and earlier potty training. It’s only been three months for me, so I can’t comment on these supposed benefits yet.)

I decided that pocket diapers were the way to go for me. They offered the convenience of not using pins or a cover, but they dry much faster (and reportedly hold up better) than all-in-ones.

I did my research and decided to buy 24 BumGenius 3.0s. Since I bought in bulk, I paid only $384. That sounds like a lot, but I expect these to last until my baby is done with potty training (about 2 years old). If I spent $40 a month on disposable diapers, in two years I would have spent $960. (And beware the hidden costs of fitted diapers. Although fitted diapers may be a little cheaper than all-in-ones, remember that you’ll have to buy new fitted diapers when your baby outgrows that size. Additionally, fitted diapers typically require covers, which are also sized.)

I began using these diapers when my baby was about a week old. I told my husband it was because I didn’t want to stain the diapers with sticky, black newborn meconium, but really the diapers looked so big and I just couldn’t imagine them fitting my tiny baby. But my fears were unwarranted. She weighed in at just over 7 pounds and although the diapers were a little bulky, they fit her perfectly and did not leak. (We used disposables again on a week long car trip. We splurged for the e

I love these diapers. They are the staple in my stash. I love that the new ones came with newborn inserts because it's like getting 12 free doublers! I add a doubler or two at night and my little one can go 12 hours or more without any leaks. Also, since I switched to mainly BG 3.0 I literally have not had ANY issues with rashes. None at all! My husband and other caregivers don't have any problems with these diapers either (whereas they do with the prefolds that used to be our mainstay). I just think you can't go wrong with this diaper.

This was one of the first diapers i tried on my DD. I thought it worked great but still decided to try more diapers. So about 5 different brands later i still find myself reaching for the BG 3.0 first. Great Diaper!!
It's so easy to use! Easy for Daddies!

I have used cloth diapers in the past and was looking forward to trying the newest BumGenus diapers. I was disappointed with this product for the following reasons:

1) rashy bum (and this is a boy who never gets red/ulcered)

2) rubbing where the top of the leg holes are, causing significant irritation;

Smaller issues: slight odor retention; significant discrepancy between Canadian prices, and US prices despite the fact our dollar is on par.

Good points: these diapers do not leak!

Cloth Kisses was great. No complaints with the service I received.

I recommend Fuzzy Buns instead.

This diaper works great for a starter/new parent, or multi-child family. The velcro is as easy as disposibles. My husband and in-laws will change this one. I would still keep some fuzzi bunz on hand, as well as some lay over inserts. The only thing I don't like about this diaper is my heavy wetter gets rashes sometimes, so I have to lay a fleece liner inside each time and the velcro pills terribly in the wash even with using the laundry tabs..ours is warn out (barely sticking) so I ordered more off a diaper site to sew on. Definately won't make it to child 2 unless I replace the velcro..they pop off..real annoying. I still love this diaper, it is still great to have in your stash. I did purchase some more, but also love my hugga buns, fuzzi bunz and happy heiny's. I would definately have a variety of great diapers, rather than get stuck with one..they all have their ups and downs..but both my toddler and I love cloth so much...don't think I will ever go back to disposibles. I wish I found these with my first child!

I personally do not care for this diaper too much. My husband and mother on the other hand love this diaper! Both were afraid of cloth diapers, and have found this one easy to use and very durable. I must give this diaper really good status on the absorbancy. My ds once slept for 14 hours (no not a typo, he really slept for 14 hours!)in this diaper without any leaks! This has become one of our night time diapers as well as our babysitter friendly diaper. The only reason I gave this diaper a 4 is because I personally just prefer snaps and something a little more trim than what this diaper is.

I have the 2.0's. Got them on sale when the 3.0 came out. Pocket dipes are not my favorites (I prefer fitteds with a cover). I was hoping to love these since they got such good reviews and since they would grow with my daughter. But, I find them leaking a lot. If my baby is laying down they have leaking issues. So now I am scared to use them and they mostly just sit there unless I run out of prefolds and fitteds.

I might just sell these. :(

I used the 2.0 version and I love the diaper. My only complaint is that once my kids learned to flip to their stomaches, I couldn't use them at night. They constantly wicked around the velcro tab as I guess it's not waterproof there to allow for the stretch. Otherwise, this diaper is great!

These diapers work pretty well. I like that they're all one size and that they contain well. I feel like the quality could be better- they frayed after a couple of washes. Fortunately, this hasn't changed their performance. I would buy them again and would recommend them.

I have used these diapers on my son since he was 6 weeks old and they are wonderful! They fit him perfectly. He had diaper rash when using disposables but that was all cleared up when I started using these diapers. They also do not leak at all! When he sleeps through the night and I change his diaper in the morning, not only are his clothes dry, but the fabric touching his bum is dry also, keeping him comfy all night long. I had also tried the fuzzi bunz diapers, but I didn't like them as much. I would highly recommend these diapers. They make cloth diapering a breeze. Also, for me, the baby poop doesn't stick to the diaper, making cleaning them up even easier.

I do like this diaper but it is not a favorite. It fits my 6 month old 17# DS but does not fit my 34# 2 year old DD. I like that it is not bulky and have not had problems with leaking. I am concerned about the hook and loop tabs. I am not sure how long they will last, I guess only time will tell. I have also tried the HH OS and given it a 4, but I LOVE the Wahmies OS. The clips take some getting used to but it fits both my little ones really well and my 2-year-old can't get it off:)

I bought this to try out a one size diaper. It took SEVERAL washings before it stopped leaking. I have found that if I don't get this diaper on just right it leaks. I don't know if it's the build of my child or what, but this is not my go to diaper.

This is my favorite one size diaper.
Pros:
trim fit
easy to use
doesn't cause red marks
doesn't leak - lasts 12 hours at night with 2 inserts
easy to stuff
great fit on my chubby girl
strong velcro holds onto laundry tabs

Cons:
velco can cause irritation if not carefully aligned

This is hands down our favorite one size pocket diaper. I wish I had purchased more of these in the beginning!

Pros:
Nice trim fit
The suedecloth lining does not pill.

Cons:
Retains odors.
Velcro requires special treatment.

I like this pocket diaper a lot. By the time we got it my DS was already on the largest setting so I can't speak for the smaller settings.

I always wash this pocket diaper in a mesh bag so the velco doesn't get ruined, and hang dry.

For odors I have found that a bit of Oxyclean Baby works wonders for this and all my other pocket diapers as well.

I prefer to use this diaper with a hemp inserts instead of the microfiber it came with. Hemp is trimmer and more absorbent.

Definitely the diaper my husband reaches for the most!

This diaper does have good qualities: it's trim, it's cute, it fit ds very soon after birth. But I must say that I'm so disappointed in the quality of the elastic. Not only does it leave red marks on LO's legs, but after just 4 weeks of use the elastic is already losing it's stretchiness. We're on a super-tight budget, so we bought these hoping they'd last through more than one child, but I have a hard time seeing how the elastic will even make it through one child. I hang dry, and I follow the washing instructions, so I'm pretty sure it's not my fault. I'm really wishing I would have found a different way to save money, because the initial investment is so huge, and now I'm not sure we'll even get our money's worth, let alone save money. It's still the diaper we use most because it fits so well, and it's all we have to fit ds, but I can't see how they'll last more than a few months.

I really like these diapers. They never ever leaked yet, and are very easy to clean and dry. The only thing is that at 3 months, my baby was already wearing the larger size... so because he's taller than normal, I don't think they will fit very long.

When I first bought these diapers (both 2.0 and 3.0), they were my absolute favorite. However, in the past month or two, they have begun to fall apart, despite following care instructions religiously. The aplix strip across front is badly pilling and fraying. The stretch tabs are starting to rip where the aplix tabs are attached. And the laundry tabs no longer hold. My youngest is only 15 months old, so I'm not sure they are going to last until potty training. I'm so disappointed with this diaper.

I really toyed back and forth on whether to give this diaper a 4 or 5. The only negative I can think of is that it really didn't become a reliable diaper until my lo was 12 lbs. I'm not a fan of one size diapers to begin with, but I got these since I have a 2 yo as well, so they are very convenient for the diaper bag. On my 2 yo, about 26 lbs., I couldn't ask for a better pocket diaper, great fit, easy to customize absorbancy, and easy to wash and hang dry. Overall, a great pocket...I just wouldn't count on it for the size range they claim.

Ok..I've been needing to do this for a while!! I loooooved these diapers especially for the first few months. I am on my third child and have been CD for a while. My stash is mainly FB and BG and Baby Kangas. BUT here are my minuses for BG 2.0 Not a true one size thats for sure. My daughter is average size and is on the largest setting already so I'll need to either buy more FB or another pocket. Disappointing. And my next beef is the velcro. It really does ####...and I have been super careful about putting it back on the tab after I take it off her and wash it. Now she's one year...the diaper that I loooooved is almost too small AND the velcro just pops off with ALL of my BG stash. Sooooo sad that I can not spend my money on any more of these....Please BG makers if you're out there...make 'em bigger, and use snaps. Then I'll buy up more AND tell all my CD friends to buy more and more.
